If you want to feel being in Texas and wild west, cowboys, boots and beer...this is the place. My first time seeing the long horns. The parade is short but sweet. We took lots of pictures and yes MOO is the word... The leading cowboy yells "come on herd" and about 20 of them follow him.

Make sure you pay for the parking...it is not very clear...but if you park in any of the lots....feed the box with your space number all day is $5 cheap enough.

The pictures show you exactly what it is, a smaller scale reenactment of what you would have seen daily 100 years ago. If you have young children this would be a must see. However even if you don't have children it's worth standing in the Texas sun for a few moments to witness. You can kind of picture what life was like 100 years ago when the exchange and stockyards were at their zenith. We came for lunch as I had seen the daily notice for 11:30. We visited the exchange museum and stepped on the street around 11:25 to find a spot from which to view. Then we went for lunch and some shopping. It does not take much time and is repeated in the afternoon. If you enjoy history and the impacts it has in shaping the present, I recommend to you.

Not a stampede but very cool. There are also longhorns strategically placed up and down the street for you to get your picture made with.

A false reality of a few cows being lead along the street apparently twice a day evert day so that it is a learned routine. Seems an unnatural life for these interesting longhorn animals especially in the heat of summer. An experience though for those who live in cities more so than rural people.

It was a short cattle drive but worth to see the long horns through the historic district. Cowboys with there horses sat out on the streets for you to visit with them before and after the cattle drives. They handed out cards about various cattle in the herd with facts on them.
