Very large blocks of stone and large bodies of water set in a visually appealing modernistic setting. Can be relaxing as well as awe-inspiring.

These water gardens are extremely impressive. They certainly look great in our photos.

However, they seem to need quite a lot of maintenance work to bring them up to a good standard ... the water in the quiet pool smells and there's quite a lot of green moss growing on the walls.

If they treated the water and cleaned the pools out, these would be really breathtaking.

It's also a bit sad that the public is not allowed in the water in any of the pools. I can understand it with the aerating and active pools, but the quiet pool is shallow and flat and has steps leading down into it.

However, don't let that put you off ... it's still great to walk around the water gardens.

Did I mention they're free? ;)

I had no idea that the Water Gardens existed until I looked up things to do in Forth Worth on Trip Advisor. It's very tranquil and you don't even realize that you are in the middle of downtown. There are many benches available to use to relax and read, and many are in the shade, so even the heat isn't a big deal. Keep in mind that there's no swimming in the pools, but it's refreshing just to be in the space.

I have been through the gardens twice. While they are nice, I don't think I quite have the artistic and architectural appreciation for them that they probably deserve. I did take the time to read what each section was suppose to mean or represent. It would be a nice place to relax if you lived near by.
