If you're looking for "real" deli fare, skip this altogether and head for Carshon's. If you're looking for convenience and average food, Yogi's isn't a bad place to eat. But they could use a few less tables since (when it gets crowded) it's like dining with the people at the table next to yours. I've never eaten there when the eggs were not overcooked, but the food mostly arrives hot, and at least they use real eggs. My favorite thing about this place is their chicken and dumplings, but it's not always on the menu so call first if that's your thing like it is mine. My husband usually gets one of the waffle or pancake dishes and I've never heard him complain. But he's a perpetually jolly sort which makes me look like a food Nazi. Still, you're paying for what you eat so you might as well hope to get it as close to what you want as possible. While not everyone on staff is polite to customers, they do have one lady behind the counter who's middle aged who seems to love meeting new people, and of course the bus boy who is polite and kind (read comments from Riobubba69 for more insight). This place, at least, is convenient and there's available parking so they've got that going for them. So, in this order: Carshon's, Jason's Deli, then Yogi's if you're looking for deli fare; Montgomery Street Cafe or Westside Cafe are at a dead heat for breakfast, and then Yogi's somewhere after that.

This was my first time eating at Yogi's. The day's schedule precluded dining in, so this was a carryout meal. Which is extremely hard to do with breakfast. The breakfast was delicious, even transported and in to-go containers. The order taker and cashier were completely disinterested in providing anything resembling service. We felt as if we had imposed on them and interfered with the more important things they could be doing with their day. What a difference at the other end of the counter where we picked up our order. The cooks and counter personnel were smiling and gracious and seemed to be glad that we had chosen to eat the food here. Which was delicious.

I have been a resident of Fort Worth all of my life. I have lived in other cities in the US and Europe. I have always liked the food at Yogi's. However, the service is terrible. The first issue with Yogi's is the layout. You wait in line, place your order, pay, then sit down and wait for them to call your name when your food is ready. Not a big deal. The issue with this lies with the owner (who is always on site, which is good). He has crammed so many tables into the restaurant, one must have the talents of Baryshnikov to navigate through the labyrinth. The second issue is the staff. Fort Worth is home to Texas Christian University (TCU) and the owner is a strong supporter of the school. Most of the staff he hires are girls that attend TCU. That alone is a recipe for disaster because these girls have no customer service. They do not greet you, they do not smile, and tend to make you feel you are an inconvenience. Another problem with the staff is the owner himself. You can identify him with his white hair, khakis, and tennis shoes. Oh yeah and he is the one talking down to his staff. On more than one occasion I have witnessed the owner barking at his bussers, on of which is a kind and gentle soul who is a bit less fortunate in the intelligence department, but does not deserve to be treated so poorly, especially in front of customers. Please bear in mind that the food is pretty good most days. I always go for breakfast with my wife and only occasionally do the over cook the eggs. However, Yogi's gets PACKED quickly on the weekends so keep that in mind during peak hours. Overall the food is not bad and if you can deal with a lack luster staff give Yogi's a try. If you still want a great breakfast, with a great staff you may want to hit The Montgomery Street Cafe or the Westside Cafe.
