Review of Japanese Palace

Japanese Palace
Ranked #321 of 1,591 Restaurants in Fort Worth
Cuisines: Sushi, Japanese
Description: Japanese Palace serves the freshest, ingredients along with seafood from around the world, giving you a unique dining experience, that is exciting and entertaining every time you visit. We strive to maintain the quality, creativity and freshness of the food we serve. In 40 years, some things change very little. That's because they don't have to. Like Japanese Palace - remarkable food, genuine hospitality, and fun atmosphere - perfectly beautiful from the start. Hibachi grills set the ambiance, and patrons are treated to a show of master chefs creating billowing clouds of steam and flames. The 1970's style original bar is preserved as a working time-capsule of the '70's culture and is a must see. Our outstanding sushi bar was Fort Worth's first!

My husband and I have been going to Japanese Palace since 1981 and still love it. They have a bar to wait in that has a great atmosphere. The food is terrific and the cooks are really good and very entertaining. They cook it at a cooking table in front of you. There is steak, shrimp, chicken, scallops, etc. They treat there repeat customers with utmost respect. If you have a large celebration and let them know ahead of time, they will be able to accomodate you.

The food alone is reason enough to go..steak, shrimp, huge sea scallops, all cooked in front of you by acrobatic chefs that toss, juggle and spin everything in sight. SO much fun. Can be loud for those hard of hearing but who needs to talk with a show like this going on? My 13 year old son was hesitant at first, but then begged to go back that weekend.

This was our third visit. The first two was with adult friends. This visit we brought the grand kids and family. We thought the kids would enjoy watching the cook and the fire on the table would excite them.. well, I was right. They had a ball watching everything and ate a good meal as well. We all had a great time, the food was very good as usual. We split the Emperors Dinner and my SIL and Daughter split a meal as well, and getting the kiddos a kids meal. Of course, it all seems to get mixed up and everyone gets a little of all of it. The food and veggies were very good. Oh, the Hostess, well, she is not kid friendly.. I don't know if she is adult friendly... she is not a good first impression of the restaurant. So, just over look her and enjoy the show and food.

This isn't just a meal it's entertainment as well.  There are several courses to the meals at this restaurant and is always fun to watch the chef perform his magic.  The food is very tasty and served right off the grill and on to your plate.  The plum wine is a wonderful compliment to the meal.  We enjoyed our visit to this restaurant but felt that the person who seated us was trying to rush us out of the place while we were trying to relax after our meal.  The restaurant wasn't busy so there was no need for that and we should have been allowed to enjoy our after dinner drinks.

While it takes some time to prepare the ingredients, the food tastes great and you'll enjoy every minute the chefs spend cooking it.
