To celebrate our anniversary, my husband made reservations at Del Frisco's. I was excited since I had never dined there, but had heard great things about the restaurant and food.

I was not disappointed. We arrived several minutes before our reservation time, but were seated immediately at a table upstairs. The ambiance was perfect. The wait staff was very attentive.

We ordered shrimp cocktails for our appetizers. The shrimp was very fresh and the cocktail sauce was unlike any other - a great spicy flavor. I ordered an Old Fashioned cocktail - it was very well made. For dinner, I ordered the filet mignon and my husband ordered the filet / scallop combination. When the food was presented, our steak plates were placed in front of us, then other waiters served the vegetables from platters onto our plates! :) They left the platters on our table so we could help ourselves to more. The steaks were perfection! Our vegetables (asparagus and maque choux corn) were excellent. I asked for a glass of red wine with dinner. Our waitress brought me a very nice blended red.

We finished our meal with coffee and a shared slice of cheesecake. The cheesecake was creamy and light and melted in my mouth. It had a nice strawberry sauce with it. The coffee was perfect - very smooth and strong and hot.

Del Frisco's is a high-end steak house, but it is well worth it. Get dressed up and have the best dinner in Texas! Valet parking is right there in front of the restaurant and I highly recommend using it. Parking in downtown Fort Worth is always a challenge.

We had high expectations on arrival.

It was Friday night, the restaurant was large and we walked in immediately feeling the vibe of a classy high street establishment. The bar was busy with couples having dinner at the bar. A piano man was playing some tunes, and people were singing along. All the signs were pointing to a great night.

We were soon seated and our waitress was delightful helping us walk through the extensive wine list with many countries represented. Another big tick.

Bread was soon supplied and then re-supplied as we waited on our entrees.

And this was where we were disappointed. Our steaks were really average. Overly fatty and chewy, lacking a great tasting basting (or marinade) that most quality steak places we're used to apply.

The onion rings were enormous. We've never seen them so large. We ate 2-3 of a stack of 5-6, they were that big. A little too greasy, unfortunately.

We wouldn't recommend it especially for the prices charged for steak (average $50)

It is a wonderfully elegant and classy steakhouse. The service, food & ambiance are excellent. The choice for a vegetarian is very good and everything we ordered was cooked to perfection, fresh and flavourful.
It is advisable to make reservations and to be well heeled when going. It is bes to Valet park (5USD) as parking in the area is very limited.
A truly a great place and far superior to the current Morton's.

OUTSTANDING. Everything about this place is great. It starts when you enter. Then when you get to the table. The menu has a lot to choose from. The wine list is long. The staff is engaging. If you come here, you need to like steak. If you do like steak, then this is your place. We had two sides for the table and a salad. Enjoy
