Burger's Lake is one of my favorite summer things to do. It is a spring-fed lake/cement pond complete with slides and swings. It is best for kids who know how to swim fairly well. Very cool and refreshing on a hot, summer day! Pack a picnic and enjoy the day! Very family friendly.

Back to the lazy days of playing in a pond, or river. No gimmicks, just natural setting to play and bring a picnic. The more kids you bring, the better time they will have!

I've been going to Burger's Lake for the last 20 years and it's always great. The have plenty of seating, picnic tables, and grilles. They also have a nice mix of shade and sun around the lake so you don't have to worry about getting too burned. They have a trapeze swing, several diving boards at different heights, a huge slide, and super over sized intertubes you can rent. I always thought the tubes were the most fun because a group of us would have a blast trying to stand all around the tube. This is an awesome place for the family. If you're wondering why 4 stars instead of 5 it's because they don't always keep the trash picked up and the the trash cans are infested with all manners of insects -- I never got stung by the bees, but about 1/2 the time we went some poor kid was crying about being stung.

We recently moved the DFW area and were looking for a place to cool off with my teenagers aside from the obvious waterparks. I researched springs and lakes and came across Burgers Lake which was within a reasonable driving distance. It is in a not so nice part of town but as soon as you arrive you can tell they can great pride in their property. There is a $12 admission per person which seemed a little high to me, but after I considered the facilities, their cleanliness and entertainment for the family, I was glad to pay. I also noticed there is a nice group of families that attend the place, so most of the troublemakers stay elsewhere. It was lushly shaded by huge trees surrounding the property, plenty of picnic tables near or distant from water, snack bar that was reasonably priced, tubes available for rent, sand or grass volleyball courts and not to mention the lake itself; it is small but plenty big enough for three water slides, a flying trapeze, three sets of diving boards, a couple of water fountains and they also are child friendly having a diving board and slide in two feet of water for the little ones. There are plenty of lifeguards to ensure safety, but keep your eye on your children. A young girl went off the trapeze and had to be rescued for whatever reason- glad to see that the guards are attentive. Overall a very pleasant day with plenty of shaded areas to get out of the sun. Have fun!
