Owner description: Designed by renowned architect Philip Johnson, the Amon Carter Museum of American Art houses a preeminent collection of nineteenth-and twentieth-century painting, sculpture, and works on paper, and it is one of the nation's major repositories of American photography. It is also home to nearly 400 works by Frederic Remington and Charles M. Russell, the two greatest artists of the American West. Museum Hours: Tuesday-Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Thursday 'til 8:00 p.m.; Sunday 12:00 to 5:00 p.m.; Closed Mondays and major holidays

I am a big Remington and Russell fan, and this has lots of both. Very interesting collection. I can spend all day here.

excellent exhibits of western and american art at this pristine museum, which is a spacious and calm place. huge plus is that admission is free (donations accepted)--great way to spend a rainy day, especially.

Very user friendly art museum. Great location to the neighboring art museums. Spend the day or a weekend seeing all of them. Amon is my favorite. Great and helpful staff!
