“Great Cowboy Art”

Several sculptures and paintings from early 1800's. They purchased, what I would consider, a modern art piece. Doesn't really fit in, but they like it.

“Amon Carter is the finest American west art exhibit anywhere!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 24, 2012

This has one of the finest western art exhibits anywhere you will ever go. The works are well presented and the facility is very attractive and gives you a nice feeling of intimacy with the artworks. Fabulous artists, these are the masters of western art!

“Had not been here in 27 years!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 21, 2012

Did not recognise it due to expansion and remodeling. Parking is off street and much easier than it used to be. Admission, even for the special exhibits, is free. Docents are well informed and friendly. This a small, charming venue.

“Good place to see American Art.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 16, 2012

The Amon Carter Museum always seems to have something good on display - and if the current exhibition doesn't interest you - the next one just might. They also offer pretty good "extras" too - from lectures, to gallery discussions, and different little programs. Wonderful museum to stop in at weather you live locally or are visiting from out of town.

“Always something I've never seen before”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 9, 2012

Every time I go to the Carter, I see something I've never seen, even in the permanent collection. Their holdings are enormous, and I've seen some very fascinating visiting shows over the years. The expansion a few years back made it even better.
