“Terrible Hotel”
Reviewed November 8, 2011

My husband and I chose this hotel beacause it was old and the reviews were good. This hotel need some serious renovation. We realize the age of this place but the amnities were laking greatly. They only offer valet parking but, at a whopping $ 15.00 per day extra charge.
Our room was strange, we had six windows but NO view. We had sheets and one thin little blanket ( the heater worked... thank goodness) No coffee maker, no refridgerator the TV worked but the remote did not! The bathrrom ( tub and toilet area) was so dark a candel would have had more light! There was also a strange ajoining door that was open to what looked like a storage area, we put a chair in front of it so it could not be opened... was just creepy! Upon telling some people where we were staying their responce was ''oh no.. dont stay there!'' We were going to stay for four nights but left the next day ( at a $50.00 a day early checkout fee) and went down the block to the Hyatt and had a great stay there.

Room Tip: choose a room in another hotel

Very cool old west hotel in the heart of the stockyards. Everything in the hotel has old Texas charm. The only negatives were the walls are thin, and it is loud on Friday nights. Also, no breakfast until 9 am on Saturday mornings.

My hubby and I stayed here for one night for our anniversary. We stayed in the Sundance room, which overlooks the main street. Fun to watch the happenings down there! The room was decorated very nicely. Wood shutters, an old-time pull chain toilet. Very cool! Bed was really comfortable. Had dinner next door. While I've had better Prime Rib, their fried potatoes are to die for!! The Stockyards if a fun place to walk around and people watch. Would totally recommend this hotel.

The Stockyard Hotel is in a great location in the middle of all the action. It is a neat old property with lots of character, but not really worth the price in my opinion. The restaurant is also overpriced for mediocre food in my opinion.

We stayed in the "back forty" room and one of the ceiling tiles fell during our stay. The hotel did discount the room $50 for the inconvenience.

All of the staff was very helpful and friendly. Parking is valet only. I probably would not stay here again, but overall we had a good time.

Super cool hotel! My friend and I did not want to stay in another chain hotel on our trip cross country and this place was perfect! The decor was unique, the employees were super friendly and the location is centered close to everything! There is a restaurant and bar that is connected to the hotel... Food was great, beer cold and it was perfect for grabbing a bite after being on the road for hours. Twice a day there is a cattle drive with real longhorns that come down the street! Lots of bars, steak houses and shopping within walking distance. The hotel is over 100 years old so the set up is unique. Check it out! I will definitely come back!!!

We spent one night at the hotel. It was decorated really cool; feels like you are walking into a hotel in the old days. Didn't experience the ghostly ecounters that some guests talk about. We will definately stay here again.

we drove up to visit friends and stayed for the fifth or sixth time at the Stockyards Hotel .... the hotel is in old the stockyards area of fort worth on Exchange. The rooms are really neat, sorta up-scale old wild west decor ... room 201 where we stayed, is facing the street (but no balcony) for people watching but a little noisy at 7:00 a.m. ... the inside courtyard rooms not noisy at all .... the a/c was really cold but could be adjusted to your liking ... the staff is AAA friendly and helpful and have a pretty good idea of what's goin on in the area .... our room was clean and well appointed ... if i had to whine, my only complaint would be about the cost of the valet parking which is $15 a day, but you car arrives in a matter of seconds when ya ask for it ... i didn't like the charge, but i'd rather pay it than walk around in 105 temps ...

there's a lobby bar called Booger Red's and an attached steakhouse called the 3H Steakhouse ... but, don't use the hotel restaurant for breakfast unless you like bacon and eggs or pancakes (the only things on the menu) the bar drinks are not expensive as far as hotel drink prices go .... everything ya wanna do in the stockyards is a five minute walk away ... there's Billy Bob's, The Stockyards Exchange and zillion good restaurants and bars ... most of the mexican food places are closed on sunday, but all the steakhouses are open ... if ya don't want to drive around for a coupla days, this is the place to stay

Room Tip: i've stayed in both the courtyard rooms and the street rooms ... the courtyard rooms are much qu...
