I was visiting family in Texas. Day was warm and sunny and they were promoting Boo at the Zoo, so we decided to go. Coming from an area that has one of the worst zoos in the United States (The Smithsonian Zoo in Washington DC which has few animals and MANY empty exhibits), it was nice to come to a zoo that is large, well laid out, with many animals. Even though the zoo was packed (ticket line was about an hour long), the place is so big, that seldom were you unable to get a good view of the animals. The habitat for the giraffes was especially nice. Yes, some readers commented on the condition of the lion and tiger habitats. These need attention sooner rather than later, but it does seem as though they are improving the zoo an exhibit at a time.
