“Go as often as possible!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 13, 2013

My husband and I have had season passes for 2 years and we love going as often as we can. This is the best zoo in the area by far! We love the zoo chats with the keepers, and have found the staff to answer questions outside of those. We have also seen them engage interested kids in serious conversation about the animals that they are looking at. Love love love this educational interaction!

“Fun, interesting zoo”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 13, 2013

We have been to this zoo when we visited Fort Worth three different times, at different times of the year and had a great time. Since it's so hot there in the summer we enjoyed the spring and fall visits the best. This last time we went we timed it so we wouldn't be in the middle of school groups and that made it more enjoyable. This isn't a huge zoo, but there is enough to see that you don't feel rushed to see everything and we couldn't think of any animals they didn't have that we missed. Most of the Texas town businesses weren't open when we were there, but since we didn't have children with us that wasn't a concern.

“Crowded, but enjoyed it with our 2 year old”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 12, 2013

We arrived early and enjoyed a morning at the zoo with our two year old. There were several school groups there but that is to be expected. We enjoyed being able to see the animals from different heights and perspectives- like with the monkeys and elephants. The spaces between exhibits were pretty and well maintained. The cafe had a glass wall to the crocodile pond- a side-on view of the turtles and fish and everything. Very calming even with the kids running around and fascinating to watch.

The paths through the zoo were narrow in places and were a challenge to navigate at times. When our son was in his stroller it was difficult for him to see in many of the exhibits, but easier to get around. He enjoyed the train ride, though it was short. You couldn't see many animals from the train, but is saved us a walk! (And our son loves trains).

The petting zoo was the only real disappointment- it only had a few animals and you could only pet them from outside of their pens.

We only lasted about 2 1/2 hours, as the zoo opens at 10 and our son naps at 1pm. We couldn't go after his nap because the zoo closes at 5. (The website says afternoons are less crowded, school groups visit in the morning.) However, that was more than enough to see what we wanted to see. We found the pricing reasonable and didn't feel the need to pay for extra apart from the train.

“Great Zoo!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 10, 2013

We visited the Fort Worth Zoo yesterday and it was a great zoo! In fact it was so great I decided to write a review about it (a first for me!). We have been to the Atlanta Zoo, Atlanta Aquarium and National Zoo in Washington DC, I would have to say this is our favorite Zoo so far! There were animals of a wide variety and a huge building with reptiles and fish - some had huge aquarium features with lots to see. We enjoyed seeing the various exhibits of the zoo and were surprised when we reached the Old West Town with information on western wildlife.

It was reasonably priced and offers a AAA discount so our family of 4 visited for $38 plus the $5 parking. We stayed several hours. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring some snacks and water with you. They have food and snacks on site, but they are a bit pricey ($2 for a regular bag of M&M's - $2.50 for a bottle of coke).

The zoo has a lot to offer and is very nicely done. A++++
