Took a picnic basket and a blanket. Enjoyed beautiful landscaping and a historical pavilion. Do not miss this free site in Fort Worth. For a cost ~$5, see the Japanese Garden at the same grounds. Amazing oasis in the city.

We had the great opportunity to visit most of the garden on Segway. While that was enjoyable (read review) the gardens themselves were amazing. We had the opportunity to visit the tropical gardens as a part of our tour and enjoyed it greatly. I also really liked the boardwalk in the trees and the manicured gardens such as the rose. Overall just a great place. I would recommend highly for a walk, run or best yet, Segway tour. Beautiful place.

This has to be one of my favorite places in Fort Worth! The gardens are big and beautiful and they are constantly in bloom spring through summer with different flowers. I love the fact that you can pretty much enjoy them however you want ( I know someone that brought in a couch one day). It is also a major bonus that it is free!

If you like flowers, being outside, or generally anything beautiful you'll certainly appreciate these lovely gardens. You have to pay to get into the Japanese garden (check out Groupon, they might help you out) but it's so beautiful and peaceful. There is an interactive segment which is very kid friendly on the boardwalk. Every time I've been we've seen people taking family and bridal photos. I really enjoyed wandering through the gardens and the plants and flowers were all simply stunning.
