“don't waste your money here”
Reviewed July 15, 2010

They messed up on our reservation and quoted us a discounted rate on the Romance Package, but once we got there we received only half the accomadations from the Romance package. Plus, the room we were in the AC unit couldn't cool the room so it was warm in our room. At check out, they tried to charge us full price instead of the discounted rate they quoted us. We complained about only receiving half the accomadations, but they stated we only received half since we were paying the discounted rate which didn't make any sense escpecially since they charged us the full rate. Don't waste your money here. There are plenty of other hotels downtown Fort Worth and also at a better location near some attractions.

Overall, I wouldn't rate this hotel that highly. Although the staff were attentive, the hotel is located in an odd, out of the way place behind the convention center. There is really nothing close by although you can walk across the convention center plaza to the Omni and find some signs of life. The room was OK but bland and kind of depressing. Tehre was nothing really very "spa-like" about this place. I would not stay here again.

Calling itself a 4 star hotel and spa is really pushing it! The carpets are brown, the walls are brown/tan, the curtains are brown. The hotel has a depressing feel about it. Since its a Sheraton the beds are very comfortable but if you value quietness I would avoid this hotel. I heard doors slamming, toilets flushing and boices in the hall. The gym is inadequate at best and the pool is covered and not well lit making it depressing. The value for the dollar is not good especially when you add in $18 to park thecar. Over all there are too many other better options. The staff however is very nice.

This hotel is all about Service. From the time we were greeted by the valet and checked in at the front desk , we knew service the guest, was their number one priority. The room was large and spacious with area to move around with a large flat screen TV on wall. Very Nice.
The bar staff was friendly. We enjoyed the location of the Water Gardens across the street and another nice thing was the Molley the Trolley stop was right in front of the hotel which made going to Sundance Square a breeze coming and going. Our dinner and breakfast at Shula's 347 Grill was good standard hotel fare, again service was attentive without being intrusive. Over all very nice getaway. Thanks to the staff. Sincerely, JoAnn

We were with a large group at a convention. There seems to be two wings of this hotel. We were in the 'newer' wing I believe. Firstly, again, very friendly staff all around. From check in to departure. Even Shula's restaurant staff were helpful and accommodating. We had a sit-down dinner for about 175 on the last night, and unbelievably all three courses were delicious, tasty and presented well.
The rooms were extremely large with two queen sized beds in each (at least ours was). We did not particularly hear any noises from next door, perhaps because we were in the newer wing? The room had free wifi which was great.
Here are some things that kept me from giving it 5 stars: Though the room was very large (as hotel rooms go), we could have used a much larger closet than the little five foot thing with small pullout doors. There was plenty ofroom for a little half size 'fridge', but was there one? Nooo. Even the Hampton Inns and other 'lesser' hotels often will offer a small fridge,
The bathroom too was large, but the placement was not thought out well. The door missed the toilet by an inch when it was opened. When sitting on the toilet (I am female), the toilet paper was attached to the wall behind the toilet. Hello? Why don't we all get up and drip to reach the paper. After a few attempts at this, I finally earned to take some tissue first and hold it in my mouth until needed. Why they didn't attach it to the vanity on the left, I can't imagine. The taps were difficult because instead of one lever that controls both hot and cold, there were one for each. Which makes it difficult to keep adjusting the temperature, for teeth cleaning or face washing. Finally I got it just the right temperature and left it running for both. What a waste of water. They had two bottles of water in thr room for our use. Until I saw the notice that said $5 a bottle. The hotel tap water tasty 'grassy' like old hay. The beds did not have that 'plush' feeling, bhut were rather firm. Some people like that. I prefer softer. So it's a preference on that item. The chairs in the lobby were not particularly comfortable, as there were kind of upright, and the airconditioning was on so high, and forceful, it was never very pleasant to sit and chat for very long.
I loved the water park that was just across the street. All in all I give it three stars. Average really.
The last night we were there, we stayed at the Sheraton Grand at DFW Airport. Now that one I'd give a 5

This was an old hilton property that was remodeled to a sheraton a couple of years ago. The finish of the rooms are marginal and you can hear the guest in adjacent rooms like you were sitting in the room with them. The AC is the window style you expect at a fairfield inn that are very loud. The small flat screen attached to the well is not movable ( restricts viewing angle unless you in the bed). The upside is as a platinum member you get access to the lounge which is actually finished very nice and large enough to spread out with your group. Don't waste your time or you money on the "Dan Mario" steakhouse, the food is sub-par and the service is worst. There are several high quality places to eat near by -- Del Friscos/Ruth's Chris and numerous places at sundance square. If you get a good deal ($100) then not a horrible choice otherwise keep looking.

Unusual in a 4 star hotel to have to unplug the TV to get a coffee. Internet did not work for 4 days and hotel charged me to fix the problem. 20 mins to get to the main restaurants and bars of downtown Fort Worth. Seemed to be the worst of both worlds. Downtown prices with out of town travelling. Large amount of train noise.
