“A real gem!”
Reviewed November 4, 2013

The Kimbell Art Museum packs a selection of the highest quality art pieces into a compact and intimate space.

A small, but outstanding, collection of European art. Not many places outside Italy where you can see a Michelangelo painting!

The unusually shaped gallery is a work of art in itself, with its original design, cosy travertine walls and excellent lighting.

We loved the Picasso/Matisse exhibition.

“Enjoyed the museum.”
Reviewed October 28, 2013

The permanent exhibits are a wide overview of art through the centuries. They are well displayed and annotated. As others have noted the museum is an excellent modern design that helps to enhance the works of art. If you do not go to the special exhibit I think you can see the rest of the museum in an hour.

“The Age of Picasso and Matisse--Don't Miss it!”
Reviewed October 27, 2013

The Kimball is a lovely museum and the current exhibit: "The Age of Picasso and Matisse: Modern Art Masters from the Art Institute of Chicago" is outstanding! Don't forego the excellent audio tour. If you purchase a ticket, the audio tour is included. If you are a museum member, the exhibit is free, but there is a small fee for the audio tour.

Tickets for the exhibit are $18, but there are student and senior discounts. There are also special evening discounts so be sure to check the museum Web site for information. Definitely recommended!

Tip: If you decide to become a museum member after purchasing exhibit tickets, the museum will deduct the cost of up to two exhibit tickets from the cost of your membership.

“Make time and go”

Well worth a stop. Opened in the early 1970s it is a classic design that feels and looks both timeless and modern. Go!
