The sign out front says "casual fine dining," and more accurate descriptors are rarely used. Regardless of the region of the country visited, when traveling with our good friends, we always attempt to seek out restaurants that offer something extra, while capturing the flavor of the region. We all felt Creek Road Cafe more than met the criteria. Whether having a nice bottle of wine cooled in a limestone chiller or watching my good friend cut his prime rib with a fork, the entire evening was a delightful experience for both couples. The crab cakes, the shrimp, the pork chop bordering 2" thick and the homemade desserts left those of us who overindulged wishing for pants with an elastic waste band. If you are staying anywhere in the Hill Country, call for reservations and enjoy an outstanding dining experience.

We knew they were highly rated on Trip Advisor, but we were still pleasantly surprised with the experience. My wife and I split the brie and the crab cake appetizers. The brie was to die for! Served with toast and green apple slices..good enough to write songs about. To be honest, alongside the brie, the crab was bland and unexciting. But the main courses were fantastic. Wife has the shrimp and grits which she loved. I would have liked to have tested the offered portion, but was too busy with one of the best, and certainly most tender prime ribs I ever ate. Had they served horseradish with it, I'd give them a 10.0, so they'll have a to be happy with a 9.7. Total bill, even with beer, wine, coffee, and dessert was just barely a Benjamin. Will plan to go back for sure. Again, try the brie appetizer...you will thank me!

We visit Dripping Springs, not that often, and in the 1980's there was very little to eat for sit down nice meals. However, this fine dining establishment has taken "Drippin'" to a new level! This place competes with Austin or Houston in its level of quality across the board. Great offerings for off menu - a watermelon salad that I will now dream about, generous long "planks" of succulent sweet melon, atop greens, sprinkled generously with fresh feta cheese, then drizzled with a yummy vinaigrette, just complementary with a sprinkling of fresh chopped mint

About a week ago we had a group of about 15 for a rehearsal dinner at Creek Road. We had a back room to ourselves and the rest of the restaurant seemed full. The food was impressive and the service was great. They handled the group well with everyone's meal coming out together and well prepared. Our guests were surprised that a little place in Drippin" could provide such sophisticated food, wine and service.

The lobster bisque was outstanding by the way. This little place caters to a local crowd who don't seem too interested in letting the word get out. Yep, they want to keep this gem to themselves.

Our family of five adults ate at Cafe Creek Rd after the Tough Mudder race tonight. The staff were unbelievably friendly and the food (ravioli, lamb @ sword fish) exceeded our expectations!

Value for money!!
