“Nice older hotel”
Reviewed May 21, 2013

This is a nicer 'old' hotel.Maintenance of the hotel and area seems to have improved since I stayed a few years ago! My room was fresh and clean. AC worked very well. Breakfast was ok, a better selection than many LQ have been offering. The area was a little noisy because of people at the pool, but the room was quiet. A decent place to stay.

Room Tip: Poor side room might be a little noisy

This is the typical outdoor La Quinta. We stayed for a weekend. We checked in on Friday and left for a meeting all day Saturday. When we returned back Saturday night the room had not been serviced, no clean towels, trash still left and the beds had not been made. The front desk did give us some extra points on our LQ account and the GM did email me his apology, but for a room not being serviced when you were gone all day is a first for me. If you are staying longer then a night be sure they service your room, if not it might be worth the 20 extra dollars to stay at the newer LQ across town

Room Tip: If hotel is not full it will be quiet, if full it will be loud when people open and close doors or s...

This visit was a weekend visit, with a trip between, downstate to see my son in Nacogdoches at SFASU. On Friday and Sunday nights, I stayed here and have been here once before. For the value, you can't get a better deal. The property is clean, older but DO NOT BE PUT OFF by that.
The rooms are clean, the beds are nice, comfortable, the air conditioner feels great as it is usually very humid in the area.It is near I 35 but once you shut the door, it is pretty quiet. I have stayed near the pool and on the other side too.
Ricky, the front desk clerk ,from 3-11, is absoutely the best! He is friendly, attentive and waits on each guest, until they are taken care of, before moving on to the next person.
The breakfast is a simple continental type, but it is ok.
My only advice would be, to put a computer in the lobby for quick reference or printing out reservations for future travel, plane or hotels. I do not normally take a laptop, nor do I have an I Pad. The hotel is located near the campus and historic downtown, so that is also a plus.

Room Tip: Upper rooms on the 2nd floor are usually quieter. The back and north side would be best for no noise...

We have stayed at this hotel several times when visiting a son at UNT. It is clean, comfortable and in an excellent location as it only takes us a couple minutes to get to UNT. The price is right and the breakfast is great with texas shaped waffles and several other options. The staff has always been nice and helpful.

There is a newer LQ nearby but considering the $20+ savings this property was perfectly acceptable. We actually prefer the outside doors of the older motels because it is SO MUCH easier than loading your luggage onto an unwieldy cart, navigating entry doorways and hauling it down a long hallway; invariably I get one with a rebellious and squeaky wheel. Room was spacious & spotlessly clean with crisp sheets, fluffy towels, flat screen TV, & free wifi with good signal strength. Jackie at the front desk was very helpful. Courtyard area was nicely landscaped & pretty & the pool looked inviting. There are both high-end and "bargain" motels nearby; would definitely stay here again.
