Wine wine wine. Owner operated tiny jewel just off the square. Extensive choice of wines by glass or bottle. Love the cheese board with warm baguette and house made pesto or choose from takeout menus provided from restaurants nearby. Quiet, friendly, perfect for date night. Coffee and a walk in humidor too. Let's keep this as our quiet little getaway - definitely not for the kiddos. Yay.

The good - Great selection of wines by the bottle and by the glass. Reasonably priced and wines of unique character. Ask John or Carol what they recommend for your taste. Great location just off the square, so you can grab a pizza/fast food or something a little more fulfilling and substantial from one of the many restaurants in the area, and then retire to Vigne for Wine and cigars.

The Cigar room is well ventilated, has a nice large screen TV, and even though it is in back, the wait staff won't forget you are in there and will check up on you to see if you need anything.

A good cigar menu with anything from Nick Perdomo basic sticks to aged RP's, Fuente's, Cohiba's and everything in between.

We have not tried the Cheese Tray, but they have a large assortment.

The bad - Parking is REALLY hard to find just like everywhere on or near the square. Especially since the roadwork which is expected to run into late 2014. If it's cold this is a problem.

So recently I have started to transition from sweet white wine to red..starting with Merlot's and Pinot Noir. So what a nice thought to go and patronize one of the local shops here in Denton. Right off the square perfect after a long night of play reversal at DCT. So excited I just know I am going to have a good experience. right?? WRONG. First off all the general manager made some off color remarks about being "ghetto and in the black neighborhood getting shot." That was strike one. Then the final blow....there was a fly floating in my glass. I pointed it out to the GENERAL MANAGER who was on duty for that night. and instead of apologizing and giving me a fresh fly free glass....he fishes the dead..well almost dead it was still squirming.. fly out of my glass with a knife!!! Then said "no harm it is protein." Seriously????!!! I don't know who hired this moron but they need to go back and try again. EPIC FAIL!!! Oh did i mention I paid $10.00 for a glass of wine!!! Never was able to enjoy it. SMDH

Vigne's (actually pronounced Vig-knee) is both exactly what it's name implies and a bit more. The wine selection is tremendous, so if you don't see something you want on the expansive wine list you can simply go shop for something else in the store (same room) and bring it to your table. The "deli" part is delivered with an array of sandwiches, a cheese plate, and so on, but the food offerings include more than one would expect in a deli. Vigne offers a small list of hot and cold appetizers/salads and of hot entrees. While beef stroganoff and veal parmesan are of middling quality, the rare ahi tuna is superb. Hot yeasty rolls add a very nice touch. The service is excellent.
