“Wonderful Homemade Delights!”
Reviewed July 17, 2011

We were on our way to El Paso, coming from Carlsbad Caverns. We planned to wait until we were in El Paso to eat, but saw "May's Cafe", and decided to stop. It was a great decision. The hamburgers were great, and the homemade steak fries were wonderful, but the best treat of all was the homemade pies. We shared two pieces among 2 adults and 2 children. Apple and cherry - the pieces were generous, and the pie melted in your mouth.

As the previous reviewer said the cafe was filled with funny, and unusual signs and decorations. The service was great too. We were all glad we stopped!

“Authentic Texas Cafe”
Reviewed February 18, 2011

On our way to Carlsbad Caverns we stopped here for breakfast. What a kick! After being closed for several years the cafe (now known May's Cafe) is open and serving good, down home cooking.

Debbie, May's daughter is such a warm and friendly lady. Breakfast is served all day.

The cafe has character - the table legs are covered in blue jeans and cowboy boots! Menus are hand written on brown paper gift bags! The posters for a Road Kill Cafe are hysterical!

This is the ONLY place open from El Paseo until Salt Flat Cafe and then Carlsbad Caverns. Stop here to take a break. You'll be glad you did!

BTW the phone number listed on TA is wrong. the correct one is 915-964-2508.
