“So wonderful!”

For an older hotel, this hotel met all the creature comforts of home. The beds were the best, hands down, of any hotel bed I have ever slept in. The staff was very warm and accommodating. The Library Bar was very nice. I did not eat in the hotel, since there are so many great restaurants in the Uptown area. The only negatives were, the size of the workout room, and the amount of outlets in the room. You can pay $10 to use the gym across the street, if you choose. On the desk pullout drawer are international outlets, but no additional regular outlets, which I found odd. I would stay here again, in a heartbeat!

Room Tip: Choose a room on the Oak Lawn side. There is a fire station on the Cedar Springs side.

Love this old world hotel in the heart of Oaklawn near downtown, uptown and the design district. It has great access to all the highways to go to any of the surrounding area easily. The service is always top notch and the lounge is a happening place every evening. The bed is very comfortable and shower has great water pressure. The downside is no complimentary internet and valet parking is on the high side. Anytime I come to Dallas for a long weekend, this is where I stay.

Room Tip: I prefer room 14 on a high floor with a clear view of downtown. It is opposite the elevator, but I...

I stay at the Melrose when I am in town for business and have never been disappointed. Other hotels in the area are fine, but the boutique feel and excellent service are unparalleled. The staff is friendly, welcoming and attentive to detail. Several times they have recognized me as a returning guest and sent a complimentary plate of cheeses or cookies to my room with an accompanying note of thanks. Small gestures like this are few and far between these days and will keep me coming back to the Melrose.

The Melrose has been a favorite of mine for years but this was the first time staying since it joined the Warwick chain. We were there for four nights in January and loved everything about it. The old girl is better than ever, from the elegance and comfort of our room to the drinks in the Library Bar and the meals in the Landmark Restaurant. The valet parking was pricey but very prompt and efficient. Everything else about the service was very good too. The area around the Melrose is great, loaded with good restaurants and services. The only shortcoming in our room was a lack of counter space in the bathroom, a function of having the original layout of fixtures, but that is not a big enough issue to mark down the rating.

Room Tip: Even the least expensive rooms seem pretty roomy because of high ceilings.

This hotel was refreshing. It had a lot of character to it. Very unique and definitely not your cookie cutter type of hotel. The staff went out of their way while I was there. The food in the Library bar was amazing. I would Highly recommend this hotel. Perfect place for business travel.

My husband and I take an annual weekend trip - just for us, without the kids - and this Spring we went to Dallas and stayed at the Melrose for 2 nights. The property is beautiful and every person we encountered was so friendly! We paid $25 for valet parking each night, a bit pricey, but it was worth it. Our room was the Deluxe Corner King and it was HUGE! LIke, apartment huge! Our rate was $191 per night and included free wifi. We had drinks at the Library Bar one evening and room service for breakfast one morning (fyi - the oatmeal isn't as tasty as it reads on the room service menu). The most special thing to us though was the attention to detail - the rooms are comfy-romantic. From the soft robes hanging in the closet to the luxurious bed sheets - we felt so comfortable! This was no "typical" hotel experience. The special hand-written note welcoming us and encouraging a fabulous stay was so thoughtful. So was the the chilled bubbly and chocolate covered strawberries waiting for us in our room when we arrived. We will come back again and again. This property is perfect for a romantic weekend with your love or a fun girls-only getaway. Walking distance to drugstore, nightclubs, nail salons, Eatzi's (go there & get pizza on Friday night), and other great restaurants. We'll come back as often as we can!

Room Tip: Go for the Corner King! Super spacious with a great view!

Anyone who has stayed here knows it is the best bang for your buck in town! Great service, food and such unique character.
Location is perfect and there's a huge gym across the street for the fitness buffs and killer bar downstairs.
The history here makes you feel like you should be cutting oil deals or buying cattle!
Really reminds me of the Driscoll in Austin!

Room Tip: Ask for a corner room for a better view
