“Beautiful hotel with beautiful view”
Reviewed July 23, 2010

We live in Dallas but recently spent a night as hotel guests in our own city as part of a wedding anniversary celebration. We had a room on the 21st floor facing downtown, and the view was spectacular both in the daytime and at night. The room had large windows all across the exterior wall, which made for a beautiful environment. From this location, we could see Dealey Plaza, the Sixth Floor Museum, Union Station, the Old Red Courthouse, the convention center and most of the downtown landmarks.

The room was clean, well organized and pleasant. It also was relatively quiet, except for some occasional noise from the train tracks below, but that seemed to fade away. The staff at check in was extremely friendly and helpful.

The only curious thing about this huge hotel is the swimming pool. If you're looking for a great pool, this is definitely not it. There's a tiny pool on one of the lower rooftops, where on a July day it was hotter than you'd care to experience. To say this pool is tiny is an understatement. It's smaller than a typical backyard home pool.

We travelled from England and didn't know what to expect. We were really impressed by the serivce and friendly staff we were welcomed by. The room we had was great it was spacious and clean and had everything we needed. The hotel facilies in general were good and we loved the easy access to the station and downtown area. We had a holiday to remember in Dallas and have told everyone about it when we came back especially the fantastic hotel. We read reviews before we booked and some didn't sound to complimentary but I'm glad we found out for ourselves just how good the Hyatt Dallas really is. Just shows you shouldn't believe all you read better to check yourself. We have been recommending this hotel to all our family and friends and would definitely use a Hyatt hotel again, hopfully they will all be of this high standard. We ate in the hotel on a few occasions - breakfast and lunch and each time was perfect. The location couldn't have been better, all tourist attractions in easy walking distance or a short walk to the train and tram, the front dest were extremely helpful in providing us with information and directions when ever we ask for help. The local restaurants are fantastic and for a snack and friendly and welcoming service you can't beat the 'bakery on the corner' and to top it all off you have to buy a Stetson in Wild Bills. Thanks Hyatt Regency for making our holiday something we will never forget.

Stayed at the Hyatt Regency Dallas for the STC conference May 2-5. The room was super clean with a modern bathroom. The desk workspace was a bit cramped and they are still using the bulky tv's, no flat screens in the rooms. The price for internet for a workable connection speed to work while at a conference is very high which I find to be annoying when you are attending a large conference that has rented out a good number of room for guests as well as the conference it's self.

The elevators in this hotel are a bit frighting! The ones that do not have glass fronts seem to be missing sections of the kick board around the bottom edges and tend to have gaps in the wall coverings so you can see into the elevator shafts which is a bit unsettling.

The price for the breakfast buffet is priced high for the quality of food on the buffet. However the prices at the quick service place called Coffee's Post has got just about every snack and drink you can think of. It also serves a full Starbucks coffee selection. The pizza they offer at Coffee's isn't the greatest but i've had worse from room service at various hotels.

Over all for my 4 days of conference and 3 night stay, not to bad. Would have been more fun if the Reunion Tower observation level was open to the public but the short walk to the grassy knoll where JFK was shot provided a good fill in for site seeing close by.

Stayed here due to a corporate account. There are many reviews here talking of tired and dated hotel that gets overwhelmed with convention goers. My first day here was great. The place was not that busy, it was quiet. The room had been updated and was generally on par with what I expect of a Hyatt. The next day, however, the convention struck, and boy did it strike big. All of a sudden, my gem of a hotel was transformed into a loud, overflowing hotel that just couldn't keep up. The elevators were all jammed, and there was a line in the lobby just to get to them. The valet service suddenly convulsed (although we didn't have as bad a time as others reported). But the staff were great and the hotel looked ok. It is a good place to stay as long as it isn't overwhelmed with people. I guess it's just luck whether that happens or not. Nice gym

My husband and I stayed for a getaway weekend and had NO complaints!!! I worried after reading some of the reviews on here, but never fear, it seems to me that those are written by some uptight unhappy people! We had great service, and a spectacular view. We encountered only friendly and courteous staff at the hotel. We have traveled extensively in the Carrib, US and Europe...and are pleased with everything about our stay at the reunion tower. The concierge was helpful and got us a last minute Friday evening reservation at 560 restaurant. They even got us in just before the sun started to go down, so we got a great view of the sunset.

We have stayed here twice, both times top notch! Definatly get a room facing downtown, awesome view! A little noisy with the trains below but, very tolerable. Valet fast and friendly. Check-in was a breeze, very helpful staff. Quick elevators! Plenty of dining options. Bed was very comforable, very clean, and stocked. A real value compared to other hotels of the same level of luxury!

We stayed here over the Memorial Day weekend, and we were both thoroughly impressed. It was immaculately clean....never saw a single "bug" or "stain", and we are both a bit OCD when it comes to cleaning. The staff was VERY nice. The rooms were beautiful, and obviously recently decorated. That mattress was amazing...no wonder Hyatt beds are legendary! We had a great view of the city, and the location in the West End was ideal. We noticed many people walking. The lobby is connected to the Reunion Tower where the Wolfgang Puck Five Sixty restaurant is. We walked over there Saturday night, sat in the lounge with a drink and watched the city from the revolving restaurant 50 stories up. Lovely! My boyfriend got a terrific price, and this hotel ended up costing him around $240 for a 2 night/3 day stay, and that includes 3 days of valet parking (yeah, you DO have to pay to park, and it's $20 per day. However, the valet service was terrific. We never waited longer than 3-4 minutes to get our car.) The only two bad things? First, the hotel is right next to the train station. It's a little noisy. Not overwhelming, but the trains do run all day and night. Second, the pool...it is TINY, especially for such a huge hotel, and it really needs to be updated.

Ignore the malcontents who reviewed this place. I have no idea what their problem is. Overall, we loved this hotel, and we will definitely go back.
