My husband and I stayed here two nights Dec 8-9 when I ran the Dallas Half Marathon; this hotel had a special price for runners. The hotel is being renovated, so some floors and the pool were closed. We didn't hear any noise from the work until Monday when we were eating breakfast in the lobby area, and it really wasn't too loud or annoying.

The room was spacious, with modern-ish decor, and a very comfortable bed. The hotel was jam-packed when we arrived on Saturday afternoon; there was some sort of girl's dance competition or gathering going on in addition to all the runners staying there. The only bad thing was waits for the elevators were very long Saturday evening, but by Sunday the hotel had cleared out. We ate dinner on Saturday night at Parrino's Oven, which was not spectacular but was just fine for carb-loading. I had made reservations online but they had no record of it, however, they were able to seat us within about 10 minutes. We had breakfast on Monday in the cafe, and ordered off the menu instead of taking the buffet. The egg white omelet was delicious, and came with nicely-grilled asparagus spears arranged on top. The orange juice tasted fresh-squeezed, as well.

I would recommend this hotel if you have business or pleasure in downtown Dallas; it's in a great location right next to Reunion Tower. I was able to walk to the race Expo at the Convention Center, the race starting area, and back from the finish area. We walked to dinner downtown at Ravenna on Sunday night, as well.

All of the bad reviews I read talked about train noise and construction noise. Trains do go by and I guess if you are an extremely light sleeper, then they might wake you up. I slept like a log and don't even do that at home. Love the decor and the room was awesome. Checking in was easy and no problems. Valet 22 a night, but we took the train around town as it made more sense. The one time they brought our car, it was there in 2 minutes tops. All around it was great. Would absolutely recommend.

Room Tip: City view better, but on side that the trains are. Didn't effect us at all. I say city side.

We spent a weekend in Dallas and were quite satisfied with choosing this Hyatt Regency. The hotel is a large conference hotel, but our floor was quiet, and we did not feel overwhelmed with thousands of other guests. Here are our thoughts:

Room: The rooms in this hotel have been recently updated, so everything, including furniture and fixtures, look brand new. The bed was comfortable, so we slept well.

Proximity to downtown: Our walks to the Book Depository museum, Neiman Marcus and restaurants were short walks (10 to 15 minutes), so no need to use your car. Also, there is a light rail stop near the hotel if you wan to venture further out.

WiFi: Internet access was included in our rate. The performance was very good, so we were able to stream video without any problems.

Thanks for your review of Hyatt Regency Dallas on Trip Advisor. I'm glad you enjoyed our close proximity to downtown Dallas attractions. Next time you come to visit, be sure to check in with our concierge for all the fine dining and shopping, such as Nieman Marcus, that are near the hotel. Being connected to Union Station gets you connected to more shopping and attractions via the DART light rail line, or travel by rail to Fort Worth on the Trinity Railway Express.

This is a wonderful hotel. The lobby is huge, spacious and beautiful. Check-in went smoothly and the staff was very friendly. The staff who took our luggage up to our room was also very friendly. The renovated room we were in was gorgeous! We had a suite and the furniture and decor was very classy. The view was also amazing. Clean, spacious rooms.

Only things I didn't like as much - the breakfast we ordered from room service could have been warmer and could have tasted better. Second morning we got a breakfast sandwich from the coffee place in the lobby and it was much better! Also, we could not figure out how to lower the A/C under 68 - I think it was set to not go under this - sounds cold but it got hot in the room at night.

Otherwise, wonderful trip. Extremely beautiful hotel and very friendly staff. Will definitely stay here again.
