“Great service, average at best”
Reviewed April 16, 2012

This is a very mediocre hotel. I had a convention rate of $139. This hotel would be a great disappointment at a higher price point.

Do not come here for the pool!

Service was very good with the exception of the chaos at valet and the long wait for a bellman.

Room service personnel were charming. The food was very good.

The bed was comfortable, but poorly made. The double sheeting should prevent you from contacting the duvet. Sorely lacking in outlets. Bath products have an unappealing odor. Towels are very thin and just awful.

Volleyball teams were poorly behaved and the hotel seemed not to care that the young girls were running amuck.

I would not return to this hotel. I would choose a HI express or Hampton before this hotel.

This is a very nice, very large (~1300 rooms) convention hotel. The public spaces are cavernous, and my only negative would be some of the furniture in the reception area looks a little tired. The bar on the second floor atrium has good food and service. All the staff in the hotel are friendly and courteous. The room was large and spacious, and had the usual amenities. The rotating Tower Lounge, 570+ feet up, offers good (but expensive! $16 for a martini, etc.) drinks and features a Wolfgang Puck restaurant as well as sushi. Very nice and worthy of going to as the views are quite spectacular.

The only reason I didn't give them 5 star was due to the getting out of there procedure. First of all, they did not honor my tax exempt certificate, so the final bill had to be redone, and instead of them doing it and redeliver, it required going downstairs and having it done at reception. Then, despite one verbal request of the bell staff and two phone calls, they never came to the room to help with luggage (and we had a lot). The valet staff was overwhelmed, and there was a major traffic of people and cars in the front of the hotel. So, it was a scramble and required three trips to get all of the luggage out of the room.

Overall, I would definitely stay there again, but just aware when they are packed (and they were), it can be chaotic on the outbound side!

Room Tip: Ask for a city side view, the way buildings in downtown Dallas light up at night is fun. Get a room...

Came one night for a business meeting and left so can't say much. Room was fairly clean (I had to clean the desk from something sticky), bed comfortable and room was more spacious than most. Staff aimed to please. Food was very good. Rooms could use some updating to furniture (well worn) and definitely more outlets (e.g. Lamps with outlets). Overall good experience but not so great I would go out of my way to return. Tip: don't get a room with a city view - it will be on the side with the train.

I stayed at this hotel for business and the room was comfortable. It was also great that it was within walking distance to Dealy Plaza.

Room Tip: Get an upper floor, the train station is right across the street and can be noisy.

This Hyatt is nicely located; had a wonderful view of downtown Dallas. The room was very spacious, clean and very comfortable. We slept well on their king size bed with down comforters and pillows. Service staff was accommodating and friendly. Walking distance to DART and close to highway. Wolfgang Puck restaurant Five Sixty is located in this hotel. It is a slow revolving restaurant with a spectacular view of downtown Dallas. The ambiance is contemporary but earthy...worth getting a drink, but can't say the same for dinner.

While our other hotel choices were sold out, I can't say I was disappointed with this hotel choice. The fitness center was particularly nice - great layout, natural lighting, equipment. The hotel room itself was good - large, terrific view, bed and linens were wonderful (towels too!).....all around good experience. The location isn't the best - don't stay if you want to walk around or you want to be close to amenities, etc.

Recent conference visit to hotel with high school students. Great trip and stay thanks to the Hyatt Regency Dallas. Picture 1,900 middle and high school students running through the hotel in an organized chaos. The hotel even accommodated their prices by giving a 15% discount in the restaurants and shops. Wow!! Large rooms, convenient location to action and rail station, nice service and quality staff. Only after thought was the tiny pool area.
