“Better than expected, food in bar well above expectations”
Reviewed May 22, 2010

This Sheraton is on the LBJ Freeway, nestled between business buildings and storage facilities. The outside is not so flash - looks like a Wyndham - in fact tell the taxi driver that, it will help them find it.

Inside is standard Sheraton, elevators are toward end of life but got me to my floor (card required). I was think this would be a rough night but I would go to my meeting and be back to DFW trying to forget.
Things got better - the room had good space, new TV etc, comfortable beds, swimming, fast wireless internet which was not charged for "because we had some criticism about it, rewired it and make it free til the end of the month."

Ok, I need food, I am not walking anywhere and I am tired (there is a shuttle bus to Galleria shopping and radius of 15 miles - did not test). The restaurant closes at 10pm and its 10.15. The bar is open for food til 11pm. I am thinking about raiding the nuts and chocolate in the minibar but decide to head down to bar.

Bar: There are several big screen TVs, nice area to sit, reasonable wine list by glass, menu has a good range. The lady doing the bar, Jenni, is pleasant, courteous, efficient and non-intrusive but welcoming - offers my choice of TV channels. Food is actually excellent and well priced. I had fish, usually a no-no in TX but it was great.
OK.

Sleep: good. Shower etc: better than adequate.
Meeting: well appointed rooms, no AV problems, excellent breakfast and lunch.
Boarding pass: they have a new Sheraton link center in the lobby - free internet on big screen desktops and from your laptop, apparently. Printer.

This is a meeting hotel and a stop over for people driving by or using as a hub.

I am fussy and cranky when tired. They actually won me, must becoming sentimental as I age ...

From lack of internet (both wired and wireless) to overwhelming perfumed scent via fan in lobby to lack of housekeeping to rooms, this was one of the least satisfying hotel experiences. If you can choose otherwise, don't stay here, plenty of other choices in Dallas. If you need consistent internet, check your room as you soon as you get in. Due to lack of internet in reg. room, I was upgraded to "club level suite". The room was no different than the reg. room in which I was originally booked and was never cleaned during the day.

We travel to Dallas frequently and were happy to find such a nice hotel that is also "dog-friendly". The Sheraton North is conveniently located at the intersection of I-635 & the Tollway. It is modern, clean & comfortable. They have a shuttle that will take you to the Galleria (across the Tollway). The staff was incredibly friendly. And best of all, they were extremely open to guests with pets. Believe it or not, there was NO pet deposit. If they stuck us on a "pet floor" we did not notice. The room was clean, the view beautiful and it smelled nice.
We've already stayed there twice. And we've recommended it to all of our friends with dogs. We love our puppy and take him everywhere with us. It's nice to stay at a hotel where the staff doesn't turn their noses at us or charge $250 pet fee. We cannot say enough good things about the Sheraton N. If the WiFi were free, it'd be perfect.

Stayed here for a conference. Room and decor very nice. Meeting rooms were user friendly. To a person, staff was very helpful and friendly. Room service was generally prompt, and food was good. Food at group functions was average.

Clean, well situated hotel with efficient, friendly staff.

Located at the intersection of 2 freeways. The fitness center is quite poky, but the equipment was very good, and perhaps the sizing is right, because I hardly ever saw anyone in there.

The elevators were just crazy though. The hotel has 15 floors, and you cannot get to your floor without a room key.

Furthermore, your floor is the only floor that your room key will take you to when going up, but not when going down. So, with a room on the 15th floor, if you wanted to visit a friend on the 4th, you would need to go to the 15th floor, and then go down to the 4th. On top of that, the room keys themselves were prone to random deactivation. And, when in the elevator with more than one person, the elevator was wont to ignore multiple floor requests, and only stop at the first button pressed. I had issues with this every single day of my stay. One evening, it took me 10 minutes to get from the lobby to my hotel room, due to room key and elevator issues. This is the kind of thing that should really be easy for hotel guests. I stay over 100 nights a year in hotels, so I am not exactly a greenhorn either.

Also, the bar shut too early.

I have stayed in many Sheraton's and this one is not quite as good as the others, it is still a good hotel to stay on business but not as good as the Westin 5mins away. The bar closes early and there is no room service after 11pm, there is also nothing within walking distance.
