This Sheraton is on the LBJ Freeway, nestled between business buildings and storage facilities. The outside is not so flash - looks like a Wyndham - in fact tell the taxi driver that, it will help them find it.
Inside is standard Sheraton, elevators are toward end of life but got me to my floor (card required). I was think this would be a rough night but I would go to my meeting and be back to DFW trying to forget.
Things got better - the room had good space, new TV etc, comfortable beds, swimming, fast wireless internet which was not charged for "because we had some criticism about it, rewired it and make it free til the end of the month."
Ok, I need food, I am not walking anywhere and I am tired (there is a shuttle bus to Galleria shopping and radius of 15 miles - did not test). The restaurant closes at 10pm and its 10.15. The bar is open for food til 11pm. I am thinking about raiding the nuts and chocolate in the minibar but decide to head down to bar.
Bar: There are several big screen TVs, nice area to sit, reasonable wine list by glass, menu has a good range. The lady doing the bar, Jenni, is pleasant, courteous, efficient and non-intrusive but welcoming - offers my choice of TV channels. Food is actually excellent and well priced. I had fish, usually a no-no in TX but it was great.
Sleep: good. Shower etc: better than adequate.
Meeting: well appointed rooms, no AV problems, excellent breakfast and lunch.
Boarding pass: they have a new Sheraton link center in the lobby - free internet on big screen desktops and from your laptop, apparently. Printer.
This is a meeting hotel and a stop over for people driving by or using as a hub.
I am fussy and cranky when tired. They actually won me, must becoming sentimental as I age ...
