“Nice Hotel Except for Loud Drunk People in Halls Both Nights”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2013

Four friends, my husband and I spent the weekend at the Rosewood Crescent. We had a wonderful time in Dallas and the Crescent is certainly conveniently located to the Meyerson Symphony Center where we went for a concert during our stay (the purpose of our trip). The hotel was very comfortable and the staff was friendly; however, the first night there was a young drunk guy on our hall making all kinds of noise early in the morning (around 2 am). It did not last a long time and we did not call the front desk. The next night (Saturday) he was at it again. And this time we called but could never get anyone to answer. We assumed several people were calling because the guy was loud, belligerent and it was 4 am. The next morning at check out we mentioned it to the front desk clerk who responded that she had been told "it had been a quiet night." I don't know if that was the party line or if they really had no idea, but either way, it's unacceptable and too nice a hotel for drunk 20 somethings to be running up and down the hall yelling and cursing. We usually stay at the Four Seasons when in Dallas and next time, we will just drive or take a taxi and not worry about staying in the more conveniently located Crescent.

I was with a group and got a really great rate so for me this was a great value. The staff is A+. I was greated by at least 10 people and the service could not have been any better. My room was very clean, quite large and the bedding was nice, mini bar well-stocked, bathroom was very nice. The location is also great with several nice restaurants in the immediate area. I would absolutely recommend this hotel.

We did a stay vacation over the weekend and this hotel was fabulous. There were reviews saying it was outdated, which is a little to the extreme. It was slightly outdated, but nothing to complain about. The room was very clean and bed was so comfortable. The lobby bar was nice to have drinks and people watch. We ate dinner at the Crescent Club and food was great. I would recommend staying here!

My husband and I spent 3 nights at the Rosewood Crescent for a business conference early in March. We don't normally stay in hotels of this caliber, so this was a real treat. We had a wonderful experience overall and would recommend the hotel. The lobby and entry are beautiful. The staff are extremely courteous and solicitous. We had a deluxe King room overlooking the entry/parking lot and the bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom was beautiful and the towels were easily the nicest I've experienced in a hotel. Our group enjoyed banquet breakfast & lunch at the hotel and 2 catered dinners at the Crescent Club - all outstanding! A few small things kept our experience from being 5-star. First the room was very warm at night and we could not cool it down below 71 degrees. Though the thermostat was set to 65 (this was the lowest it allowed), it never dropped below 71. For us, that's just warm enough to interfere with a good night's sleep. Additionally, the outlet next to the vanity was broken. We asked the front desk to repair these issue and they took care of it immediately. The outlet was fixed, but the room temp did not improve. On the last night we opened the window, which helped cool down the room, but being just above the valet parking meant there was quite a bit of noise late evening and early morning (Next year we'll request a room facing the courtyard/garden vs. the valet parking area) There was a fair amount of hallway noise, which surprised me. You can hear anyone talking in the hallway or walking past your room. The dresser in the room is beautiful, but there was very little drawer space (2 to be exact, even though it appears to be more). The mini bar (which we didn't use) takes up quite a bit of space. Other "hotel items" took up most of the rest of the space. There is a large closet near the bathroom that included shelves, so we had no problem with our 3-days worth of clothes, but if you're staying longer or have more than 2 people in the room, I think space would be an issue. WiFi is $10 per day per device, but free in the lobby. There is a Starbucks right on the corner, which I enjoyed on 2 mornings. I thought the hotel was close to shopping, but there really isn't anything within walking distance. Overall, it was a treat staying there and we look forward to next year's conference.

Room Tip: If you want to open your window at night, request a room on the Garden / Courtyard side, not overloo...

Bought a package on Travelzoo and was pleasantly surprised by the inexpensive price for massage or facial plus lunch at the Spa. However, you get what you pay for. We opted for massage and both of us felt very rushed through the massage...not relaxing. Our massages were mediocre at best. The locker room was crowded and in need of a remodel or facelift. The one bright spot was Chela who works in the locker room. Just the nicest attendant ever! She knows what you need or want before you do! The sauna, steam room and jacuzzi facilities are okay. Although, I felt like the steam room got dangerously hot very quickly. The lunch in the spa was tasty. Although, again the spa lunch facilities felt old and in need of a facelift. Contrast that to the beautiful, airy and contemporary lobby at the Crescent and you feel like you went through a time warp. I would NOT go to the spa at the Crescent again and I would NOT recommend it. However, if you want to relax in a gorgeous hotel lobby and then have dinner at Nobu (in the hotel), I would say go go go.

Just spent the weekend at this hotel and, although the staff was wonderful, both nights we were disturbed by drunken arguing out In the hall. We won't stay here again and wouldn't recommend it as a weekend getaway shouldn't leave you exhausted.

It's been about 14 years since I stayed here last and have things ever changed. The rate was very reasonable and now I know they price for what you get: a noisy room in desperate need of capital improvements. The carpet was stained, the baseboards chipped, the bathroom plumbing spotty, and the luggage bench upholstery torn. The sheets are solid but scratchy. Bedding is definitely not on par with like class hotels. I, and other guests on my floor also, had a rough time sleeping because of all the noise from mysterious mechanical sounds and guests congregating in the hallways at 1:30 am. The gym was nicely equipped, but I think they have local memberships which probably require them to maintain. Elevator also wasn't working this morning. The staff are friendly which helps.

Room Tip: Every side of the hotel wing is noisy (based on my polling fellow guests). Stay at another hotel.
