1. Room wasn't clean when we got there. Makeup, hair, etc. was still left from previous occupants. Sheets and pillows weren't clean. 2. Valet service was understaffed.3. Room wasn't serviced one day.

I take stay-cations in Dallas quite often. This was my first visit at the Fairmont and I can now say this is my new hotel of choice from here on out. The service is UNBELIEVABLE, the food is divine, and the rooms are heavenly. I can’t wait to come back!

Service is excellent, the bell hops can really keep you informed. Check in was quick and easy and we arrived early and the room was ready. The rooms are large, the beds were good and they have a walk in closet. The pool area is very nice, though drinks are big city prices ( a pina coloda was $16). Had some concerns, no fan in bathroom, there is a air exchange but it is slow. The bath mirror gets fogged up and it takes 10 minutes to go away (weather was humid). No place to put items if you need to us another mirror, one in hallway and one in walk in. There is a safe in the room and check the desk for plugs and cable connectors. The tub needed some upgrading. Newer high seat toilets would be nice for older customers. We could not get lukewarm or hot water after 8 PM even after running hot facet for many minutes. Concierge was very helpful as was front desk. Bar service was very bad, waited 20 minutes to get served and there were not a lot of people there. Others in our party had similar problems in the bar. Prices were high for bar and restaurant, though from 4-7 PM you can get $4 beer/wine and sliders for $2. That included all tap beers.

Overall this is a big hotel, it says 4 star but they could improve on a few things.

Granted, I'd probably say this about any hotel that had a Starbucks inside it (coffee helps me hate all of you just a little bit less each day, what do you want from me?), but this hotel is absolutely amazing. The lobby is enormous and grand with a design that has an air of elegance and class. So that's the impression you get when you first enter, after your car is valet-parked and bellhops take your luggage.

The rooms themselves are luxurious with all the amenities you'd expect from a four or five-star hotel. Our room came with a view of the downtown Dallas area, so that was a huge plus. The beds are uncommonly comfortable, and the bathroom has all the space you need and a vanity that's more functional and well-lit than just about any other hotel I've stayed in.

It's also incredibly quiet. Sometimes when I'm in hotels, I can hear the guests in the room above mine doing what sounds like a clumsy rendition of "Riverdance." Here, I slept peacefully. 10/10, would stay here again.
