Just finished a 5 night stay while attending the ITA Spring conference. For a downtown hotel I liked this location as it is an easy walk to the Art Centers, the West End shops, and the Uptown trolley. Several really good restaurants are also very nearby (see my reviews of Stephan Pyles and Dakotas).
My only "beef" was a funky little closet that had NO HANGER BAR ...just 4 hooks.. wow... never seen anything like that in an upscale hotel.
The bed was very good and the room (1716 South Tower) was nice and quiet, and the staff were all very nice.
One other point, the food (we had a breakfast and two lunches) in the restaurant and bar (respectively) were very tasty, but a bit pricey. And if you love good bacon, don't order it here.More
