I'm surprised by the reviews that others have given this place.

I stay at Fairmonts frequently - and this property does not keep the brand standard.

I did not find the service levels to be what others have represented in their reviews - and it wasn't just one or two under performing employees. From checkout through bartenders, to the concierge - I was left with the distinct impression that there is a morale issue - or a management problem at this property.

It's a good location - so if you're interested in being in the core of Dallas, this works. If you want to experience the Fairmont brand level of service that is associated with their other properties - stay at one of the other high end hotels that will deliver value for money.

To the management at Fairmont Dallas
- deal with your front desk staff. Don't have president club members standing in line while 3 clerks chit chat with one client about what everyone got for Christmas.
- Fix your air conditioning so that north tower rooms are not 80 degrees at night
- heat your lobby. yes its "winter" in Dallas - but that does not excuse the fact that you needed to wear a coat to have a glass of wine in the lobby bar.

Room Tip: We had to change rooms because the air conditioning didnt work in our North Tower room......and it w...

Everyone at the hotel was extremely friendly and helpful. We especially loved getting to know Tony Bennett as he helped get our luggage from our room to the car. He was such a joy to talk to and made our stay even more enjoyable!

We stayed in the south tower on the 11th floor, where the rooms have been so recently renovated that you could still smell the paint (the website hasn't updated the accommodations photos yet). The standard king room was beautiful and spacious, with a full wall of windows and amenities such as built-on headboard reading lights and a Keurig coffeemaker. Room was quiet and comfy. Bathrooms are still of the old school (small, no counter space, could use retiling) but they were more than fine. Lobby looks a little dates, but the new rooms are extremely sleek and modern. Lastly, location - walking distance to all the major sights of the arts district.

The Fairmont in Dallas has been home away from home for ten days. When checking in we had a few issues with heat in our two bedroom suite. However, engineering was on the case immediately. The suite was so spacious and elegant. The 18th floor Gold club was excellent, we received superb service from Zachary and Jonathan and Jennifer, Ellen too was a big help. The home baked breads, fresh fruits, yogurts, tea selection and other goodies offered throughout the day were great!!!. Philip at the Concierge Desk was right on the money with all of our reservation and transportation needs. The gift shop was my favorite spot though!! ROSALIE made me feel right at home and had the shop stocked with whatever necessity or whim I could imagine, ...and knew everything about Dallas .

Room Tip: The suites on high Gold Floors are an excellent value!!!

I stayed at the Fairmont back in August of 2012. First of all, it is one of the classiest/posh hotels I have ever stayed in. Secondly, I had the distinct pleasure of making the acquaintance of Mr. Tony Bennett. His sense and style of customer service was impeccable. He also told of the hotel's rich history. He made my stay that much more pleasurable by going out of his way to make sure that I was well taken care of more than once. I would definitely stay here again, and would hope that I get to see Mr. Bennett again!

My boyfriend and I stayed at the fairmont for two nights including New Year's Eve and we were intimidated at first by how nice it was. Very nice hotel right in the center of downtown (our room had an awesome view of the fireworks New Year's Eve), polite and accommodating staff. My boyfriend has a lowered 240sx and is always extremely picky with who drives his car so he was skeptical about valet however a blonde gentleman, his name started with a C... He looked like he could have possibly been the manager, was super nice!! He personally took care of the vehicle and didn't let anyone drive it but him. Needless to say he was tipped accordingly. Room service was awesome and our bed was one of the best hotel beds I've ever slept on. Only incident that put a damper to our stay is the concierge confiscating our bottle of champagne we had bought for New Years... Unknowing to us, there is a new texas law against bringing alcohol into your hotel rooms... If we had known this we would have adjusted our plans but oh well, not much you can do there.

I love staying in high end hotels for the customer service and this hotel is definitely setting a standard.
