I enjoyed my stay at the fairmont dallas , I did have a little problem with my bank card nothing that couldn't be fixed though . their rooms are very nice , I had a wonderful view from my room , room service is quick to come and staff was nice .

Tony bennett was a wonderful doorman , very fuuny and sweet .

I'm not sure if it was just my room or the hotel. There was old wallpaper in the bathroom that looked like it was glued back on the wall several years ago and without proper caulking, rust on the metal door in the wall/ceiling, old caulking in the tub/tile seam and the toilet seat looked old with scratches painted over. The lobby is nice, but the room just felt really old and outdated. It didn't feel 4 star quality, which was disappointing. The bartender, James was great, made good drinks, and never left you waiting for the next one.

While attending a conference at the Dallas Fairmont I saw a coat in the window of the gift shop and went in to take a look. The sales lady (Rosalie) was great. She showed me several different versions of the coat and even would try them on to help me with size.

Next day I went back and the flower shop located next to gift shop was closed. I had wanted to get a single rose for someone who had gone above and beyond in helping with our conference. Rosalie had a single rose at the counter and I ask if I could buy it she wrapped with tissue paper and said I could have for no charge. What an unexpected wonderful thing to do.

Within my short stay at the hotel I was impressed the doormen. They welcomed me so warmly that I did not even feel cold as it was ourside. Especially Tony Bennett. Tony was very helpful and great. I should return back maybe even only to see the fellow once again. Tony - thanks.

Room Tip: Rooms are rather small.

Our concierge, Tony Bennett was always so chipper and helpful and a joy to be around! The hotel itself was nice, but the service was what will bring me back when i need to travel to Dallas again. The only complaint i have is that the parking situation (valet only) took a very long time.

Let's hit the down spots. Do not, repeat do not accept any room that ends in 19--1019--919 1719--you get the picture--why--because you will hear the service elevator--creeky and slow, and mouse driven all night long...Even the staff wouldn't stay in these rooms, so ,why should you. 2nd down spot---key missing for the mini bar. Laundry bag missing. And, finally, in the upgrade sections--high floorss--closing the door to the bathroom--a sliding door--often requires the intervention of superman... Also,need more mirrors and lights in these room. Upgrade rooms need desk sockets for computers, phones, etc. No more bending below the desks...

Having said that--here are the plusses--staff and service--from valet park, to bellman to front desk--knowledge, training, and outgoing personalities. Makes one feel comfortable. Went out of way to change our room, after we our bout with the service elevator...no hassle from anyone.

Starbucks on site--which in today's consumption world is a plus....and cab attendants quick and really helpful....

Coming back to Dallas, would stay again--especially since we now know where the elevators happen to be....

We had a great time staying at the Fairmont for Texas/OU weekend. Tony Bennett provided awesome service with a smile! He kept us laughing and helped us with everything we needed! We're planning to stay here next year, too!
