“what happened?”
Reviewed June 18, 2013

We stay at The Ritz Carlton in Dallas on a regular basis. During our stays, we always dine at Fearing's. Our stay at the hotel this past weekend was wonderful, as usual. Unfortunately, our dinner at Fearings was not so wonderful. It was a Sunday evening and we noticed that Chef Fearing was not at the restaurant this particular evening. It was most obvious as the service was poor, the cuisine was not up to par and even the presentation was poor. Everything from the appetizers, salad, entree and dessert was not what Chef Fearing would have approved of. Even though our dinner was $1,500.00 (with wine and cocktails), we were very disappointed. It is the first time we have dined at Fearing's and felt that we would have been better off with room service. We will be back with the strong hope it will not be a repeat performance.

“Perfect place for a "splurge" night!”
Reviewed June 13, 2013

We attended Fearing's to celebrate my and my mother's birthday, and what a spectacular night it was! First, the atmosphere is very nice without being stuffy, and it was possible to hold a conversation - the noise level wasn't too high! The service was attentive, but not as stiff as at other high-end restaurants. And all 4 of us loved our food - very expensive, but imaginative, without going over the top. For example, I had the buffalo tenderloin, which was accompanied by jalepeno grits and a spinach flauta - all were exceptional. Also, was very impressed with the wine service - I was trying to decide between 2 different bottles of red, and the red that was less expensive was the one that the server recommended (and he was right - it was very good). Would not hesitate to recommend this place for anyone wanting a wonderful night out!

This place is extremely expensive and supposed to be high end, but the food was very disappointing, Everything was covered in strange sauces and tasted weird.

“Lovely Uptown Lunch”
Reviewed May 31, 2013

After spending the morning at the Dallas Tower Antique Show we were looking forward to
an exceptional meal at Fearing's. My friend and I were pleased to be served delicious scallops,
white cheddar cheese grits, and a crunch salad. The food couldn't have been better.
The lunch time crowd wasn't a quiet group overall but while there you get the feeling you are in the
best place to enjoy a good visit over lunch on any given day of the week.

“Food is still stellar...service needs a little tune up!”
Reviewed May 29, 2013

We were staying a couple of days at the Ritz & called for a take-out order (trying to minimize a service charge to our room & I was going down-stairs anyway). The Fearing's receptionist directed me to Room Service...even after I told her I preferred to pick up the "take-out" order myself. Room Service was eager to assist me, but lacked knowledge of the menu items I questioned. When paying $44 for Elk & $48 for buffalo...knowledge of product is key! Fearing's would do better to capture hotel guests "take-out" or "room delivery" requests for meals themselves- ensuring all inquiries are answered quickly & correctly. Possibly, the Ritz may wish to reconsider the room service options to minimize any future confusion. Nonetheless, the quality of the food was stellar, despite the conundrum.
