“One of the top five restaurants I have ever been to.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 30, 2013

What did I like about it. How about everything ? We were a group
of 17 people and the restaurant was full. The wait staff did a
a classic "as good as it gets" job. The food ? Truly outstanding.
I had a tenderloin cooked to perfection and I tasted their signature Rib eye a friend had, wow is all I can say. My wife had to salmon, again cooked to perfection. Every single thing I tasted, and I did my best to try as much as I could handle, was
outstanding. Wine selection very good. This is a expensive restaurant but I really feel you get your money's worth. I will never go to Dallas without dining here.I might even go to Dallas
to dine there.

“Hit and Miss Service and Food”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 27, 2013

Stephen Pyle's started off wrong with us. They serve neither Riesling nor Moscato by the glass. When we declined to order wine, the waiter check out on us. The appetizers were excellent. The tamale tart is large enough to be a main course, while the soft-shell crab was the perfect size.

My Mrs. had the halibut and grilled octopus and she LOVED both. The baby octopus was tender and the delicate flavor was lightly seasoned by the wood grill. I had the rib eye and while the steak was excellent, the mound of chili-flavored onion rings were greasy and unappetizing. Sadly, the pinto bean and mushroom ragout was woefully undercooked and inedible.

We enjoyed the mud pie--I've never had a better meringue but the weak coffee tasted of a red can.

For the price and inconsistency, I could not recommend this restaurant. They need to cook the beans through and get some decent coffee.

“I loved Aquaknox and this brings me back to that vibe.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 6, 2013

We arrived early on a Friday night and the place was empty, usually not a good sign, but within 10 minutes it was full. We couldn't decide on ordering off the menu or the tasting menu, but decided we would order a better bottle of wine from the menu. The sommelier was really helpful offering three well priced bottles, we chose a bottle we couldn't get anywhere else. The ceviches were fantastic (we had two). I ate off the small plates, my wife had an entree. Dessert was delicious.
This is creative cooking, maybe not the most out there modern cooking but in my view fabulous.
The wine was delicious and they wrote out what we had for wine and dessert wine, in case we can find it again.

“Outstanding restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 3, 2013

We went there Restaurant Week and had the prix fixed menu. We sat at the bar and had an amazing waiter. He attentive, funny, new the menu in depth and made excellent recommendation all while keeping his distance. The food was outstanding. The atmosphere was great. We will go back.
