During a recent trip to Dallas, I had the pleasure of twice having breakfast at the All Good Cafe. Really enjoyed the atmosphere, music choices and well prepared, high quality food offered in LARGE portions. Great service and atmosphere. Staff even put up with my "northerner' kinda questions regarding southern cuisine such as what is "chicken fried", etc. Recommend this restaurant and a visit to "Deep Ellum" in a heart beat. A mile or two away from the main hotels in Downtown Big D, but well worth the trip. I will visit anytime while in the Dallas area!

If you're in Deep Ellum and don't go to AllGood, you've missed a gem!

The name says it all. Honest to goodness, EVERYTHING on the menu at AllGood is amazing. I eat there a couple of times, if not more, a week, because I am routinely disappointed at other restaurants but never at AllGood.

This place takes their food seriously. It is all high quality and well cooked food. The chicken fried steak is one of the best I've ever had, and the pancakes are THE best I've ever had. The Main Street salad is amazing, and the Truck Stop sandwich is gluttonously divine. If there for dinner, try the filet of sole. Their tartar sauce has a nice kick and a bit of a tang due to the capers.

The owner is a jolly guy who will come over and talk to the patrons, and the waiters and waitresses are nice too, although the all seem to beat to a different drum. They're all quite "hipster." This place prides itself on being set apart in all the ways it can. Heck, their motto is, "It's like going Austin without having to pass through Waco."

The place seemed super hip upon entering, but we noticed tha tthe decor was mostly posters for concerts in Austin. Thus, it seemed that the place offered more of an Austin vibe than a Dallas vibe. We asked the hostess a question upon entering the All Good Cafe and she gave us a funny look, ignored our question, and told us "go sit over there." She gave us odd looks while we ate our guacamole and had a few drinks. She didn't seem unfriendly or rude, but just strangely spacey, and she stared at us quite a bit. Our waitress was nice and the guacamole was good, but we found it strange that the hostess kept checking in with us in addition to the waitress. We were planning to order more food, but the weird vibe was too much for us & we decided to get out of there.

My husband and I stopped in for what this place claims is the World's Best Chicken Fried Steak. Save your time and money and go elsewhere is our recommendation. The crust was thin and most fell off as you began to cut into the steak. Gravy was under seasoned and accompanying green beans were completely raw. My husband's spinach veggie was also raw....not even wilted by heat. Both veggies had no seasoning or taste. Service was okay....lots of waiters stopped by but it was obvious that no one really took care of any one table and so we had to constantly flag someone down for refills of tea. And no one bothered to ask how the food was. Not Good would have been our response.

Neat little, retro-hippie vibe cafe. Good food, good service!! Not a huge selection for late afternoon diners.... But, great breakfast menu and it's clean!!!!
