This guy had money and taste. My favorite collection of Asian art in the states. There are volunteers who conduct free guided tours. the quality of pieces is amazing. I prefer the jade dinner ware.

“Step back into China”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 12, 2013

China through the Lens of John Thompson is an amazing collection of large format pgotography that dates between 1868 - 1872. There are some stunning photographs ... definitely stop by to see these before May 5th. Also, nice collection of Asian art ... and it's free. Pretty garden with water feature and chairs and tables to sit and enjoy.

Located across from the Nasher and next to the DMA.

“A Gem in the Dallas Arts District”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 12, 2013

The Dallas Arts District is marvelous, whether you're just walking your dog at Klyde Warren Park or going to an opera at the Winspear. There's so much to do that you might miss the Crow Collection and that would be a shame. Set on a corner across from the Dallas Museum of Art and the Nasher Sculpture Museum, the Crow is much smaller than her sister museums, but size isn't eveything. In fact, sine could be a blessing. The footprint of the Crow is small, but it does have three floors of amazing pieces highlighting the amazing skills of Asian artists. You can see everything in a short period of time, but you'll probably think about them for a long time. The jade especially is outstanding. They have a very unique gift shop, too, full of non-typical goods that could make you a hero to whomever you gift them to. This is high on my list of things folks need to see in Dallas.
