“Cadot - a bit of France in Plano!”
Reviewed September 5, 2013

Well from the minute we walked in we were treated as special guests. The atmosphere was warm and inviting we were seated quickly and served drinks. The waiter was very helpful and gave excellent suggestions. We enjoyed the soup and escargot. Portions were reasonable -- not the mega size that most restaurants serve. The steak frites were so yummy - made with a bit of truffle oil and the fish with risotto that I enjoyed was so savory my mouth is watering remembering it. We had two desserts - the opera cake was tasty and the profiteroles were excellent little pastries. We will be back!

“overpriced”
Reviewed August 28, 2013

I really wanted to like this place. But, they are very expensive and they cut corners on quality. Who brags about a family history of baking and serves the bread with margarine? The food was good but nothing spectacular. Portions were small even according to the light eaters in the group. Dessert was a cup of strawberries with whipped cream or a cream puff with ice cream. For the price I expected so much more.

“Better than most bistros in Paris”
Reviewed August 23, 2013

I had steak frites and escargot that were better than any I have had in Paris. The steak was so tender I couldn't believe it was flank steak and the French fries were better than paris.

I also had escargot and it was served with fried spinach which was different and great

the profiteroles were excellent and the beignets were better than you get in New Orleans

“On the Very Good Side of Average”
Reviewed July 27, 2013

I couldn't convince myself to rate this at very good, but it's better than average - especially for a neighborhood restaurant. We went for a special occasion and the food was very, very good - classic continental dishes that were done the way you remember them. The service was OK, but not anything to write home about. It's the restaurant itself that missed the mark for me. Outside is an inviting red and yellow awning. There's a patio enclosed in one of those thermal wrap things to make it weatherproof. It looks like you want to go there. Inside, they need a decorator. Blonde wood floors, blonde wood furniture and everything else is white. (yawn) Just not elegant enough to make me feel like it's special. They have a lot of oil paintings on the walls, but they need someone who knows what they're doing to hang them. Nothing seems to fit exactly right. We'll go back, because it's in the neighborhood and the food is good, but it won't be where we go when we're feeling like a special occasion.

“Revisit”
Reviewed July 8, 2013

Had one of the best steak experiences. Filet was cooked to perfection. Very tender(almost fork tender) with bits of fois gras melting on top(have no problem with the cosumption of duck fat) enhancing the flavor. The potatos had a wonderful brown crust and almost a buttery flavor. Delicious. The starter Caesar salad did not disappoint as well. Finished the meal with a fantastic Lava Cake which was served warm with a hot chocolate center. Our server, Benjamin, was knowledgable and attentive and made our dining experience fanatastic. Can't wait to come back.
