“Pretty bad Friday buffet”
Reviewed October 12, 2012 via mobile

We went for lunch on a Friday, not realizing they don't serve from the lunch menu on Fridays. Instead, you can order from the dinner menu (at dinner prices!) or have their lunch "buffet". Ugh. Bizarre food combinations on the buffet: BBQ w beans in it (?), tilapia with a sauce, potatoes with cheese, chicken noodle soup with huge broccoli florets (?), and Chinese/ Spanish rice. Double ugh. The burgers were ok (also on buffet)... The rest was awful and just disappointing. One unidentifiable dessert. If I wanted gross food to fill me up for $10, I think a gas station might be better.

“Ho hum”
Reviewed September 14, 2012 via mobile

There's something about the service in Dallas restaurants that requires diners to have enormous patience, even on nights when the restaurant isn't busy. This was true at The Butcher Shop where drink and food arrived at a glacial pace. My steak was OK, but hardly noteworthy. Not worth a return visit.

“Just okay”
Reviewed August 13, 2012 via mobile

We were staying in downtown Dallas and wanted the "Texas" experience, and were directed to the Butcher Shop. The area is quiet. The restaurant is showing its age. The service was excellent ~ both pleasant and informative. The real test, however, is the beef. Among the four of us my summary was that it was just okay.

“Excellent value and food”
Reviewed June 12, 2012

Had dinner here with a group of business associates. Some of the best steaks I have had anywhere. The prices are also better than other downtown restaurants.

“Great Steak”
Reviewed June 9, 2012

We walked in at 5PM and there was no one there, we thought is was closed. Waiter Scott came over and made us feel like we are home. He was very good at his job. The steaks were great and melted in your mouth. I would recommend going back.
