I didn’t think it was super awesome nor did i think it was horrible, it was just meh. Macaroni & cheese and banana pudding were very good. I felt the prices were a little high and the sauce was like Sweet Baby Ray’s. The staff was very friendly and the restaurant/bathrooms were really clean.

Brisket was delicious and tender had it chopped. Ordered the mac and cheese pepper jack and the potato salad. I was impressed with the potato salad because it was not what you expect from a bbq place, it was red potatoes with dill and mayo based. Loved it. The ordering is through a cafeteria type line and then you go seat yourself in large picnic tables inside. Drinks are fill your own with soda and teas available in the dining area.

We had been to Trinity Groves a few times before a visiting relative suggested trying barbecue in that area. We arrived a little after seven on a nice spring Friday, and were able to get in line and start ordering immediately.

The people behind the counter were friendly and quickly helpful, allowing us to change our sides and drinks when we got indecisive. There was a live blues band playing some classic favorites so we sat outside on the porch because they were quite loud. The acoustics weren’t great, but it was a nice change to have open air seating and live music.

For two people sharing a two meat and two sides meal plus one hard cider and a soda, it came out to $22. Really not a bad deal. The food was good and there were a few sauces for topping the meat. The green beans were bland, but the french fries were delicious.

Looking inside you just see a large non-eventful dining hall with fifties memorabilia and paper towels and some condiments on the red checkered tables, but in the back you order your BBQ dinner and fill your basket with delicious food. The price was moderate too, but the portion could have been a little bigger and the meat was lukewarm at best. But we enjoyed it a lot and it had a good flavor. On walking distance from here you have a great view over the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge and the Dallas Skyline.
