“Wonderful Museum experience”
Reviewed July 8, 2013

THe new Perot Museum is a way to spend a delightful afternoon, or all day if you have the time. The exhibits are well done and very informative. The Museum layout is convenient and easy to navigate. The most fun is to take your kids and watch them light up seeing the exhibits and playing with the displays.

“Something for all tastes”
Reviewed July 6, 2013

You'll never tire of things to look at or get bored because you can't find something to suit your tastes. This place has dinosaurs, space stuff, magnetic things, weather things - ALL genres of science. They even have a sports section. If you're looking to see ALL of it - it'll take more than one trip. If you're looking to be amazed and make the most of a few hours - this place will definitely fit that bill. Everyone finds something to "awe" at.

“an event that could have been much better”
Reviewed July 5, 2013

We braved the holiday visitor crush at the Perot Museum today, 7/5/13, an event that could have been much better.

Granted, we knew there would be crowds, that we would likely be jostled occasionally by excited kids, (I have three myself) but really had not expected to be bumped into, stepped on and elbowed by so many adults. Four to one, adults barging into you versus kids. What’s up with that? Maybe that’s indicative of why little Johnny is attempting to dismantle an exhibit with parents standing by doing nothing about it…sigh…..

The Museum itself is laid out well, the displays are arranged in a logical sequence by floor / theme, so you do get an adequate immersion in the topic at hand. For example, the weather area had several unique exhibits that were more interactive and insightful than what you would normally see in a museum of this type.

There are some hands-on areas for exploration, e.g. robot cars, tower construction, light spectrum, but the number of “experience for yourself” stations were far outnumbered by static displays or simple video screens. For a Nature and Science Museum, in 2013, would think the number of “hands-on” discovery areas would be much larger.

Maybe if it wasn’t wall to wall people, our experience would have been more positive. Even with “timed” entries into the exhibits, the crowd was overwhelming, highly recommend staying away on holidays. And watch out for the adults if you go……

“A marvelous new addition”
Reviewed July 4, 2013

Opened in December 2012, this is a marvelous new addition to Dallas, a truly outstanding experience for children aged 10 to 85. Comprising four fairly compact floors and therefore relatively easy to get around, it combines erudite learning with sheer hands-on fun and spectacle, and uses a combination of innovative exhibits and hi-tech wizardry to make science and nature genuinely interesting to even the most jaded individual. We actually saw young children gasping at some of the cool things to do, and even a party of teenagers were pretty engaged. It can get a bit busy, and there's too much to take in during a single visit, but this is worth every $ of the entrance fee, especially if it's 100 degrees outside and you want a great place to escape the sun for a couple of hours.

“Perot”
Reviewed July 3, 2013

I am used to small museums with old still exhibits. I was in for a surprise regarding the size of this museum, as well as the interactive exhibits. There are three floors of exhibits as well as a children's museum

I personally enjoyed Texas Instruments hall.

The Plastiki catamaran is on display outside. There were renovations to add a park outside the museum.

For parking, there is a municipal parking across the road for which one has to pay.

The Children's museum feature a race-game pitting humans vs a virtual cheetah, dino and some American athletes.

Thre is also a musical staircase which piano tunes ring out upon stepping on the steps
