Our family of 13 spent most of the day at the museum. We had a great time. All of the family has a science background and all of us do science related activities. I thought the exhibits and a to kites were well done. We waited reasonable times for some things, but mostly could do what we wanted when we wanted.

I particularly thought the gems and minerals exhibit was great. The staff was knowledgable and was patient in answering our questions. The younger of our family enjoyed the sports exhibit. The five (ages 8 to 24) all participated in these activities.

The entrance and exit was not well designed. It was very confusing where to check in. We had 10:00 tickets. When we arrived there we found lines for many entry times, but not 10:00. The lobby area was full and the membership table added to the confusion.

The cafe was too small for the number of people. The attendance was families. Because of the small space, all of the tables were full of people without food while people with food wandered the floor.

The lobby issue will be experienced by everyone. The cafe issues will be experienced by half of visitors.

We had a fun time, but the lobby and cafe issues were annoying.

I took my family to the Perot Museum, ages 14 to 74 and we all enjoyed our visit. I was so impressed by the building, the exhibits, the interactive features, I just can't say enough good things about this museum. There is something here for everyone, not just for the little ones, the price is right ($12-$15), parking is easy to access and only $6 for non-members. Everything here is top-notch, the views from the windows are wonderful, the landscaping is beautiful and they also show movies for an extra fee. If you're in Dallas, make this destination a priority in your plans, you won't regret it. Beautiful, can't wait to go again!

Very well done with something for ages. Very crowded as it is new. You should buy tickets online to avoid ticket lines.

First, on school days DO NOT visit before 1:30 PM. On mornings the museum is full of out of control elementary and middle school students on field trips. Most kids are turned loose in the museum with no teacher supervision. Young people are running at full speed throughout the exhibits, shouting at the top of their voices to friends, and disturbing everyone interested in the exhibits.
Now, the exhibits of fossils, dinosaurs, minerals, solar system, and birds are excellent and presented very well, There are extensive exhibits sponsored by the oil industry that are repetitious and appear to be efforts of the major exploration companies to honor the founders with exhibits. There is virtually no information on wind and solar energy which is a shame since it is key to the future. Likewise, the whole subject of global warming is only mentioned in passing.
Texas Instruments provided a large area designed to stimulate minds with a variety of displays. Again, on my visit the level of noise and horseplay by the students was very distracting in this are.
The building design is very unique and worth seeing.

The new Perot Museum of Nature and Science opened recently and it is amazing fun for all ages. Filled with high tech, interactive exhibits on every floor, the museum is state of the art on design inside and out. The theater was showing two amazing 3D shows and we enjoyed Meerkats. This is definitely a highlight of a visit to Dallas.
