let me start out by saying what I enjoyed.

great place for a tourist to get that trendy Texas feel. my wife enjoyed her fried chicken... that being said, you pay for the fact that it is trendy.

$21 for fried chicken is overpriced.. no matter where you go. my chicken fried steak was severely lacking, especially considering this is Texas themed, they missed the mark with their take on it.

cool Texas theme, overpriced and a little underwhelming.

My boyfriend and I had a great experience here enjoying both the food and music. We had the fixed price Sunday Supper a great mix of honey fried chicken, cod, ribs, bread, veggies and dessert served family style. A generous amount of very well prepared and seasoned food authentic to Texas country cooking. The music was as entertaining as the food. A real old fashioned trio sang old country songs in a lively stage in the center of the restaurant This is a great place to take visitors for a full taste of Texas. Stephen Pyles knows what he is doing!

First impression of the restaurant upon entering was a cool, hip vibe with a touch of rustic flair.
The bar is large and also offers a spot with a few wing back chairs for a comfortable place to meet friends for a drink. Nice wine and cocktail selection. We started with a few tacos at the bar, a brisket and a fish, both loaded with layers of flavor, the brisket was sweet and smokey, the fish, a bit blackened with six different condiments to add as you wish. Next we tried the pickled deviled eggs-they were delicious, creamy with a tangy bite! it was a large appetizer, as there were 8 in the order. My entrée was bacon wrapped meatloaf, with mac n cheese. The meatloaf was flavorful, with all the usual suspect ingredients. Comfort food at its best. Give it a try, you will not be disappointed.

Every bite, every sensation, every emotion was wonderful! We had Sunday Dinner- a tasty collection of meats, flavors, and emotions. The shrimp etouffee was undeniably the best ever. This dish is so often over seasoned and over cooked- but not there. The ribs were slow cooked to perfection and seasoned with just a little heat and many layers of flavor. The salad was amazingly fresh and perfectly tossed. Corn on the cob sprinkled with blue cheese made your mouth tingle. The Tres leche and chocolate cake desserts hit all the right notes. They even had a West Texas trip playing standards that were great... and that is not my favorite art form. Pleasant , informed, attentive but not intrusive service set it all off. If in Dallas you must dine here. And all of this is an upscale , casual, southwestern vibe. PS: don't miss the oversized photo prints in the restrooms.

I went there because I was in the mood for great food. But I was not impressed. I had the Brisket. It was way too salty and too Smokey and dry. Just was not good at all. Even the side potatoes were not good. They try to spice up everything but it was too much. Service at the bar was just bad. I wanted another drink but nobody offered. We even had to ask several times for water. Will not try again as was not impressed with the TX spicy theme on all foods.
