“Good location except on a Sunday morning”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013 via mobile

I stayed here for a weekend in late April and appreciated the location. The weather was nice so we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go including the Sixth Floor Museum and McKinney Avenue. The staff was excellent, very friendly, very helpful from check-in through check-out. Our room was a little tired but clean and certainly acceptable. Unfortunately, there are multiple churches near this hotel and the bells begin around 7:30 in the morning on Sunday. We'd had a late night on Saturday and hoped to sleep in but just as we were dozing off again, the 8:30 bells started ringing. This pattern continued all morning. The staff verified that it happens every Sunday morning and routinely annoys the guests. If we ever go back on a Saturday night, ear plugs will be used! The fruit-infused water options in the lobby were consistently delicious and the bartenders in the lounge had some impressive infusions of their own that made for a few tasty cocktails. Overall, a solid choice.

I recently stayed here for my second visit (first was a couple of years ago.) From the moment that I checked in and greeted by the friendly front desk, until the moment that I checked out, I had a wonderful visit.

The entire team is friendly and eager to help. The lobby and rooms are very clean, and the staff in the bar/restaurant are top notch. They remembered my name, drink, favorite food and always made sure to check on me.

This was a pleasant trip that I will always remember, and anyone needing to stay in Dallas should check it out.

The hotel is conveniently located near the very heart of Dallas and has many options for getting around to where you need to be without much effort. Given that the light rail system passes right by the hotel and there are many places within walking distance ( which included the place I needed to be for business ).

There are no airport shuttles to this location or other mass transit options to get you there so you may end up having to rent a car anyway or using a taxi about $60 USD(one way). Parking if you drive is in a parking garage attached to the complex that the hotel resides in and they also offer valet parking too. If you're going to be going in and out, I would recommend the valet parking as you can take your car in/out as many times a day for a slightly higher fee whereas in the garage you must pay for each exit if you self-park.

Check-in was quick and painless and the hotel staff was friendly and ever helpful. The room was adequate by hotel standards, and clean. My room was unfortunate located right off the elevators and they noise from their activity could be heard clearly and made it difficult falling asleep during the times when there were increased activity on them. The other noise which I could not fault the hotel for was due to construction in the complex that would begin in the early mornings and could be heard as well. No real noise from other rooms/guests was really apparent. Also while no hotel room is perfectly dark lights in the Plaza of the Americas at night are bright and seep in around the edges of the curtains even when drawn.

The complex the hotel is a part of "Plaza of the Americas" has g number of shops and eateries for pretty much any taste, however like many things in the vicinity everything closes very early and you're left with few choices at night for dining. This is due to the majority of the surrounding area is businesses and once business hours are over most things are closed as well. The Hotel restaurant/bar is not bad and the staff is very friendly and the food decent and portions good, but the prices felt a bit on the inflated side.

In summary if you need to be in this area then it is decent choice to stay with plenty of options during the day if you're visiting downtown Dallas for business reasons.

Room Tip: For the love of god make sure your room is far away from the elevators, as they can be heard going u...

This hotel located in the middle of downtown Dallas is very nice. The staff was quite courteous and helpful. The hotel room was spacious and clean. It is super convenient if you have business downtown. The only draw back is the amazing amount of taxes you will pay on your room. Also, they charge over $12 for internet charges. When they charge as much as they do for a room, it does burn me up a bit that they charge for internet. I did use the hotel gym on the top floor and it was quite nice.

Room Tip: They are renovating the atrium area that this hotel is attached to. Ask for a room that faces the o...

Stayed here for two nights with the family. Checkin was quick and easy. Room was really nice and not too small. But the service really stood out.

My key kept not working and they quickly fixed it for me. I also liked that when there was a que someone appeared from nowhere to service you.

Would recommend and stay again.

Room Tip: We stayed in a room overlooking the atrium which was actually being dug up, however still a great vi...

This is a very nice hotel and I would highly recommend it and definitely would stay there again. The desk clerks were friendly and helpful as was all of the employees. Our room was clean and spacious and looked out on the front of the hotel (N.Pearl St.) but noise was never an issue. Note: they have taken out the skating rink and are in the process of replacing it with a nice open atrium but as for now it is a construction zone. The food court was great except for the fact that it closed down at 5 each day when the office workers went home (not sure about the weekends). KFC, McDonalds, Taco Bell, Blimpies and, my favorite, Corner Bakery among others was great for b'fast and lunch. We did eat one evening in the hotel dining area and it was very nice but of course pricey. Fairly easy walking distance to the West End and next to the Dart system, if you like public transportation.

Good size rooms and clean. Internally facing rooms can be noisy from atrium area. Restaurants closed early nearby and area quite dead at night. Can't complain about service. Convenient location for business in area.
