A Group of us popped in on a Monday evening to try a proper Texas steak, and the visit exceeded our expectations in every way.
We got free champagne on arrival and our waiter Tony took us through the menu - accompanied by one joke after the other.
(We ended up enjoying his company so much that we invited him to our show in town the next day!)
What was supposed to be a simple Monday night quickly turned into a steak extravaganza, and we ordered pretty much every side dish on the menu to share (as well as oysters, cheese, charcuterie...) - except the mashed potatoes, because Tony said so. And we found out early on that in Tony we could trust!
I had the fillet mignon - medium rare - and it was almost melting in the mouth.
We tour The States and have visited a lot of different restaurants - and The Chop House has been one of our favourites - certainly the best steak.
The restaurant also had some good wines, and we enjoyed a bottle of Malbec and a glass of Sauternes for dessert.
We’ll be sure to return if we’re ever back in Dallas!
