Amazing. We were looking for a bite between flights. A Dallas resident told us about Pappadeaux and the Cajun seafood. Went down one level by gate 25 and was stunned by the friendly atmosphere and great decor. Then Kate, our server greeted us with a smile and excellent recommendations. Please get the crab cakes, gator tail, seafood gumbo, yellow fin tuna Cajun style. Top off with sweet potato pecan pie with vanilla ice-cream. I am now sitting waiting for my flight with a contented smile on my face. Forget the food court and take the escalator down to Pappadeaux. Ask for Kate.

Stumbled on this DFW gem because our connecting flight was at gate A23 and it is located at A24-25. It's downstairs location from the main concourse and the fast food lineup there immediately sets it apart. Their food service guarantee of 20 minutes may not apply to all items or times of day, but ours was well within that frame. The 3 Maryland style crab cakes were very,very, very good (being a bit picky here [not saying excellent] having had the real deal numerous times) and the fried oyster dinner WAS excellent served over dirty rice, a side option available instead of fries. Decent wine list for a place that offers to get you in and out. Ambiance very much Nawlin's, tables with white linen, the dark wood posts and walls and the Cajun background music. Waiter Ryan was attentive and helpful, keeping water glasses filled and notice of when to expect the food. If you are looking for a yummy alternative at DFW and have 45 minutes (did I mention cocktails first?) this is THE place to go.

We had time to get a decent meal between flights and were able to get a great meal at Pappadeaux at terminal A. The atmosphere is awesome, very calming and away from the crowd. You won't even know you are in an airport. The food came quickly and tasted wonderful. We had the catfish po boys and they were huge. Would suggest catching this place for a retreat for even a cup of coffee if that is all the time you have.
