Besides Kingspa being an awesome weekend getaway, I always look forward to the Aroma Therapy Scrub. It's 90 mins long, you get a full body scrub, hair washed and conditioned, and even a facial cleanse with a soothing face mask. And to top it all off, when you purchase that scrub you get a free admission ticket to use within 1 month time frame.
Now food wise, I love their rice drink, the galbi beef, and the seafood tofu soup in the stone bowl.
Always a great experience, looking forward to my next visit.
Oh and did I mention they are open 24/7?! So you have the option to stay the night. It's pretty cool, but definitely not the most comfortable unless you like sleeping on the floor. So maybe max I would stay is one night unless I got a hotel near by ;)
I lived in Korea for 3.5 years and I visited the jimjibong frequently. I loved spending time there to relax and enjoy the sauna. This place is better than most spas that I visited in Korea and can't wait to go back.
Me and my husband we love this sauna! But yesterday we faced a little disappointing treat. My baby was so happy yesterday and was playing nicely but little bit loud (I admit 😝) and eventually we were kicked out of family lounge (!!!) in King Spa because one sleepy Korean couple wanted to sleep and they complained to management that my baby was too loud!😤😤😤 Why would someone complain about playing baby, come on ppl. And Why would they say its a Family lounge if I can not spend time there with my baby! If it was not written Family Lounge on the entrance I would not let my baby play there. Guy from management came and he was very polite and sorry to say that we have to leave the room. They told us to take my baby to Break Room, which is very dark and quiet, why would they send playing baby to dark room? Why this couple was not sent to this quiet room to sleep?! Family lounge has TV (we used to watch cartoons there!) and its bright and nice place to play but because this couple preferred to sleep there they turned off the lights and kicked us out! So this made me think the management there is racist, because the couple that complained were Korean and the management is Korean too. I understand ppl come to relax and rest but I have seen kids playing around loudly so many times. I still love the place and will recommend to friends, and will keep going keeping in mind and be ready to face racial discrimination.
This place is huge. During my second visit I did and saw more, but still haven't explored the waterpark. This time I got the gold ceremony scrub. My skin has never been softer. I was a little worried that it was 90 minutes, thinking I would get antsy, but it was great. I felt like I was being prepared to marry the prince ;) Somehow my lady exfoliated a ton of dead skin without irritating my skin. I am looking forward to my next visit.
I buy a pass every time they are on Groupon. I usually go by myself because I find it more relaxing. I like the hot tubs, whirlpools and saunas more than the indoor pool and water park aspect of it. I have gone into the pool though.
I recommend bringing a full size towel, as they don't have them.
I have been to King Spa several times, but this is my first review. Here are some tips for first time goers.
- If your a body conscious (by that I mean shy about your own body) that will be something you have to get over. The locker rooms are full of people changing and walking around nude. If you plan to spend time in saunas or hot baths (don't worry the locker rooms and saunas are separated by male and female) you will really have to get over a fear of being naked around others.
- There is a large indoor water area that is coed. In this area you wear your swimsuit. This area has a lot of jets that massage different parts of your body.
There is a kid's waterpark adjacent to the water jet area. It is only open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
-The dry areas are areas where you are required to wear king spa's uniform - as this is also coed. There are many rooms: salt rooms, cold rooms, and hot rooms, as well as a lounge area.
All of these things listed are covered by general admission. If you want to get a specific service (manicure, massage, reflexology, facial, etc) those things are costly and separate. Make sure you bring at least $150 if you plan to do those things.
I love spending time in the hot baths and the water jet area. It is very relaxing. I haven't spent much time in the family water park area because I usually go alone. The sauna is incredibly relaxing with the steam! The jets are very strong, and can be a little painful if you are not prepared and your body is not positioned properly.
I LOVE the dry areas! I love relaxing in the warm rooms - it clears up my sinuses a lot.
It is a culture change, so if you are going to go, it is good to maintain an open mind! Have fun!
