I buy a pass every time they are on Groupon. I usually go by myself because I find it more relaxing. I like the hot tubs, whirlpools and saunas more than the indoor pool and water park aspect of it. I have gone into the pool though.

I recommend bringing a full size towel, as they don't have them.

I have been to King Spa several times, but this is my first review. Here are some tips for first time goers.

- If your a body conscious (by that I mean shy about your own body) that will be something you have to get over. The locker rooms are full of people changing and walking around nude. If you plan to spend time in saunas or hot baths (don't worry the locker rooms and saunas are separated by male and female) you will really have to get over a fear of being naked around others.

- There is a large indoor water area that is coed. In this area you wear your swimsuit. This area has a lot of jets that massage different parts of your body.
There is a kid's waterpark adjacent to the water jet area. It is only open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

-The dry areas are areas where you are required to wear king spa's uniform - as this is also coed. There are many rooms: salt rooms, cold rooms, and hot rooms, as well as a lounge area.

All of these things listed are covered by general admission. If you want to get a specific service (manicure, massage, reflexology, facial, etc) those things are costly and separate. Make sure you bring at least $150 if you plan to do those things.

I love spending time in the hot baths and the water jet area. It is very relaxing. I haven't spent much time in the family water park area because I usually go alone. The sauna is incredibly relaxing with the steam! The jets are very strong, and can be a little painful if you are not prepared and your body is not positioned properly.

I LOVE the dry areas! I love relaxing in the warm rooms - it clears up my sinuses a lot.

It is a culture change, so if you are going to go, it is good to maintain an open mind! Have fun!

This was my first visit to King Spa and I'd never been to a spa before, so this review will be unbiased.

CLEAN: My first impression was how clean this place is. I visited late night, and several custodians and staff were cleaning in different areas. I'm always a bit wary of germs, but I didn't mind walking barefoot on the floors, sitting in the chairs, lying on the mats, or climbing in any pool.

After checking-in and removing my shoes, I received a uniform and a wristband. The wristband has a locker key embedded and a barcode for any purchases made during a person's visit. No outside food or drink may be brought in, but this place has a small food court. I didn't eat anything, but my friend tried the egg rolls and said they were delicious.

TIP: Bring a towel from home (unless you don't mind renting large towels for $1 each. Small towels are provided for the shower area, but they are about the size of a kitchen tea towel.

TIP: If you feel uncomfortable being naked with strangers, this may not be the place for you. After you are issued your uniform, you go to the locker room (separated by gender) and put your clothes in a locker. Then you must take a shower with soap before entering any of the saunas. The men's showers have no dividers or privacy.

TIP: Read the rules at the website before you come here. The rules and recommendations tell you a great deal before you get here, so you know what to expect.

TIP: In the men's shower area are hot pools of water, a cold pool of water, and a sauna room. TEST the water before you step in. I felt like Goldilocks---everything here was either too hot or too cold. I didn't experience "just right" until the water park later.

After the shower area, I donned the uniform and went into the coed area where the saunas are, but I didn't try any except to step inside a few to see what it was like. After the hot and cold water pools in the shower area, I was done with too hot and too cold (and yes, there is an ice room!)

I ventured toward the water park. To enter here, you must pass through another locker room, and here I changed from my uniform into my swimsuit.

TIP: Swimsuits may be rented, but you'll be more comfortable in your own swimsuit that you can bring from home.

The water park was wonderful. The water temperature was "just right," the water was clean, and the main pool is huge. Around the inside edge and in the middle of the pool are personal "stalls" with tiled steps on which to sit. Some have underwater jets for massaging the legs and back; some have shower heads above that spray powerful streams of water directly onto you. Just a push of a button starts the water action when you're ready.

TIP: The water coming from the shower heads is VERY POWERFUL. I would advise anyone to push the button to start the water flow and test the pressure before standing in the stream of water.

TIP: You can bring your uniform and towel into the water park and leave them on a chair while you enjoy the pool.

When I was ready to leave KIng Spa, I went back to the first locker room, changed clothes, and dropped the uniform and any spa towels into a large bin for those. Then I went through a checkout line, where my wristband was scanned to show my account, and I paid for everything I used or consumed while there.

After my experience, I felt clean, refreshed and rejuvenated. This was a wonderful experience.

The Spa is not visible from Royal lane. It is hidden behind a bank, and is with a big parking lot.
The exterior appearance or maintenance of the spa could be improved. We found water running over the parking lot. Once inside, they give you a wrist band with a chip, and locker key. For the wet spa, ladies and have gents have excluded areas, as they are nude areas. Before entering any of the pool/jacuzzi you need to take a shower with soap. The water temperature ranges from 65 to 225 F.

For the dry sauna area, you must wear the spa uniform given to you. they have different rooms with different temperatures and medical benefits like the ice room, fire room, salt room, golden pyramid room, infrared room....
My favorite was the fire room(225 degrees F) and the base rock room.
I didn't sweat this much in years. Keep drinking water(available for free at the cafeteria), as you get dehydrated quite easily....

There is a family lounge, theater room, and rest area for the families. The water park has different pools, and slides which is welcoming for the kids.
Alcoholic drinks are available at the water park area.
You can even schedule a massage or body scrub for yourself, for an extra charge.
Every purchase you make inside the spa is charged to your wrist band, which is collected during the checkout.

Once entered, you can stay for 24 hours.
The whole spa is pleasant as we went on a weekday.
But I figure that the weekends will be quite busy.
Overall, it's a must have experience for a Korean spa newbie like me.

Look for a groupon or you can even get a e-coupon from king spa website, so that you can enjoy this experience for around $24.

Have a great time....

I spent 7 hours at the King Spa this past Saturday, still trying to decide how I feel about it.

The Good:
The baths in the women's area were fantastic! The temperatures were of varying degrees and bubbled nicely. I loved the wet steam room as well which I could only tolerate for about 5 minutes. The area was extremely clean, the water chlorinated and clear. The sauna rooms in the co-ed area were amazing, my favorite was the pine salt, oxygen and Bulgama rooms. They too were of varying degrees of heat and I found them to be very relaxing. I got the Gold Aroma massage which included a full body scrub and an acupressure massage, fabulous! This isn't the typical Swedish massage and was uncomfortable at times, but was well, well worth it. The body scrub was something else, layers and layers of dead skin removed, who'd have thought it?

The Bad:
The attitudes of the staff, absolutely unacceptable. I haven't been anywhere that is less welcoming than this place. Upon arrival, I informed the front desk staff that it was my first time there and requested someon provide me with what I needed to know. I was told to go to the information desk and I'd be instructed from there. Well, the young lady at the information desk didn't care anything about this being my first time, she only wanted me away from her desk. I had to ask which way to the gym and where to get fresh water and what areas were men/women or women only and what to wear in each area and with each question she became more and more annoyed. Unfortunately, this wasn't an isolated incident. EVERY employee I approached with a question either dismissed me completely or reluctantly addressed me...I've never experienced anything like it before. There was one Korean lady at the desk in the women's locker area who even though she didn't speak a lick of English was friendly and smiled while she tried to communicate using her hands, but everyone else was either outright rude or apathetic and indifferent. Even the woman "Laura" who did my massage was very abrupt and unfriendly. No one provides you with a tour of the facility so you'll know where to go or know what's available. I had no idea there were 2 eating areas until after I'd already eaten, it would have been nice to have a choice. I didn't know where the bar was either until the end of my stay and that's when I discovered there was a whole 2nd floor with additional spa treatments. The other complaint I have is although there are signs all over stating to be quiet, the noise level is allowed to be way to high for a spa. Too much noise isn't conducive to relaxation.

The Mediocre:
I ate at the Korean restaurant and ordered ox soup and pan fried dumplings. When I tell you the soup had NO flavor it is not an exaggeration. It was served with a platter of condiments, chili paste, bean sprouts, salt, etc. and even with adding all of it it was the most bland thing I'd ever tasted. I'm such a light-weight when it comes to spicy, hot food and was so afraid I'd be unable to eat the food, but boy was I wrong. The pan fried dumplings were pretty good and the prices were not bad. The drink I ordered from the bar was ok and at $12 was probably a little overpriced.

Overall, inspite of the poor customer service and lackluster food I can say I did enjoy my day trip at the King Spa, but I'll likely try another spa before returning here.
