If you miss Japanese / Korean style bath house, this is a perfect place for you to relax!
They have several sauna that you can try! Get sweaty and detox your body! And after that they have big bathing room with several big bath tub you can soak and relax your body! (Men's room and women's room are separated - of course)
Now they have an awesome indoor pool! We go to the pool first, and sauna, and bath!
They have a cafeteria that serves Korean food (at the sauna) and American fast food (at the pool) Foods are pretty good and reasonable for a place like this.
Highly recommended!
PS. Look for Groupon for discounted admission price. Or check their website for a coupon.
First, thank you to everyone that responded to my questions. I also stopped by and asked the front desk staff a few questions. The gentleman working was very nice and politely answered my questions and provided helpful tips that I will share with you. They offer tours of the facility during the weekday when they are not as busy. Prices are cheaper during the weekday and it is quieter. They generally get very busy around 2 on the weekend. Some of the nail and facial services do not start until 10 on Sunday (not sure about the rest of the week). Some services are first come first serve while others require an appointment. No shoes beyond the front desk area when you walk in and enter the facility. However, I saw many people with footies and ankle socks. You get to put your shoes back on when you check out. Definitely take your own towels- I took two (1 for showers and 1 for pools). Also, take your own toiletries (body wash, body sponge, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, etc.) they have shared bars of soap available and shampoo and conditioner mounted on the shower walls (not sure about the contents since I used my own stuff). You can use their towels for $1 each beyond the locker area. The lockers are probably 3 or 4 ft long and 1ft wide. No shoes allowed in lockers, showers, pool and sauna areas, nor rest rooms. There is a little neat machine that rings the water out of your swimsuit like a mini spin cycle.
Definitely speak up to let the workers know you are a first timer. Ask for a map. Ask about the protocol. It will make your experience more enjoyable. They are not shy about asking for tips so don't be shy about asking about services. 🤓. Rookie mistake - I went on a holiday weekend. So I didn't get to relax as much due to the crowds and the noise level. I wish there was a wall to separate the main food court from many of the special saunas. Unfortunately, the noise spilled into all of the rooms. I saw some people with ear plugs. That will be added to my bag for my next visit. There are no clocks and you can definitely lose track of time. I would have stayed longer if I didn't have plans for the evening. I easily burned 4.5 hours there and could see how I could have been there for another 2 hours or more. I didn't try the food because we were grilling a bunch of food that day and we had eaten a bunch before going. Next time, I'm going to eat the food. It smelled wonderful.
I absolutely loved this spa. I am a spa newbie, so I wasn't really sure what to expect, but I was totally satisfied. This place is huge. They have steam rooms, saunas, hot tubs, a movie room, and a family water park. If you are like me and you read a lot of reviews prior to visiting places, let me give you some advice before visiting this place. First, make a phone call to the spa. The automated menu was so helpful in explaining the rules and procedures that are in place. A lot of the reviews that I read (prior to visiting) stated that people were often confused (about rules and procedures) and felt like they didn't really have assistance. I found that once you were aware of the rules (i.e. things you can bring/not, area procedures, etc.), everything else was super easy to find out (just talk to others). Plan on staying several hours so that you can get the full experience. Here's a quick summary of what to expect...When you walk in (after check-in), you'll receive your uniform and locker key. The uniform is used for all the general areas (food court, sauna, movie room, etc.). If you want to go to the water park and use the pool, you will have to have a swim suit. In the non-coed steam room area (located in the locker), expect to be comfortable in solely your skin. And to be totally honest, contrary to what I initially thought, it is not a big deal. Everyone is trying to relax and no one is paying attention to anyone. It's truly a place to let go of stress and worries. I went to spa king at 4:00 and I didn't leave until 11:00. I went in feeling tired and stressed and I left feeling rejuvenated. Once you give yourself time to relax and adjust, the experience does the rest!
I just spent 24 hours at King Spa, and I'm REALLY glad I got in on a Groupon. I've been on a spa kick and had never done the Korean spa thing, and so I tried Spa Castle first and have been twice now and both times amazed me, I tried King Spa once and was pretty let down. Don't get me wrong - they're both very cool and reasonably priced ways to relax and get away, but here's the differences that make a difference for me:
* Water jet power - Spa Castle has this beat by far. The jets are FAR more powerful and you don't have to turn them on as often. At King Spa I was turning them back on every minute and a half and they were weak.
* Water temperature - Spa Castle has a variety, but their hot tubs are HOT. Powerful jets, very very hot water.
* Ability to be outdoors - I like that Spa Castle is located outdoors, and there's a terrace where you can look down from the 3rd floor onto the pool. It's beautiful day or night.
*Decor/landscaping - Spa Castle is chic and modern without sacfiicing the Asian side, it looks a lot more expensive than it is. The relaxation areas are beautiful. The ones at King Spa are just confusing. They look like they could either be from Korea or from my cousin's quinceñera. Also, there's not cool landscaping like caves, etc. at Spa King.
* Food options - Not as many at Spa King and the quality is just ok.
* Outdoor options for hanging out - Laughable at King Spa. It looks like a broken down Putt Putt with fake greenery grass.
Also, the outside looks like a strip club.
I was relaxed and it was worth the Groupon price but I won't be back again. The jets and water pressure are too big of a deal for me.
The sauna rooms were nice.
Be aware that they don't take checks - I lost my credit card and tried writing them a check but they just held me hostage until someone came to pay for me to leave.
Family oriented, intersting - more kids at King Spa but they're better behaved ones at Spa Castle.
Also, be prepraed to be in a sketchy part of town. Spa Castle is in the 'burbs, Spa King keeps it...real. LOL. Not a huge issue because parking is protected but if that freaks you out it is what it is.
They also have a nice extended waterpark for the kids - but again, it's indoors which I don't really enjoy as much.
Also, a lot of stuff was broken, not working, and the furniture torn.
This place is pretty cool,. Lots of defendant spa options, a few different hot tubs, and a kid zone. A def way to relax,. But must be Willing to show it off if u get my drift. I will return. And it's a good value for the price
i'm not sure what all the bad reviews are about, but i will stress that i've never gone to king spa on a weekend, and we've almost always gone on a groupon which cuts the admission price quite a bit. maybe i just know what to expect, and i've never expected the experience to mimic a fancy hotel spa. our last visit was on a thursday afternoon and it was pleasantly quiet throughout, even within most saunas. we didn't go to the pool/waterpark area (where there was pleasant music playing by the way), but just stuck to the saunas this time. yes the towels and uniforms are a little worn, the food isn't awesome, and the staff can be rather short- but it kinda doesn't matter, especially if you go when it's a little slow. we love the base rock crystal room, the fire sudatorium and the pine salt room.
