Weekday lunch. Butternut squash was watery. Grilled fish sandwich was small, watery, and $14. Pretty much like a six-inch sub cut if half. But at least there was great decor and attentive service. Noisy.

Service was fantastic, attentive but not overbearing. We went for lunch and I had the shrimp and grits. They were fabulous? My associate had the rissoto special and she loved it. I would go back but I would try to find a quiet corner. It does get very loud so its hard to hear each other.

We have dined here twice (Jan 2013 and March 2013). The first experience was outstanding. This last visit was just so-so. Perhaps it's the seasonal menu change -- the food was not as interesting or delicious this time around. The wine and beer selection is excellent.

Went in on St. Patrick's Day (2013) without a reservation as two weeks prior, when trying to make a reservation for the day, we were told reservations were not being taken for St. Patrick's Day.

Arrived around noon, and sat at the bar as the uncivil hostess told us the wait would be an hour. Must say without a single doubt the "hostesses" were horrid - no customer service, rude to a point you'd think they don't need the job and don't care about customer's, and bordering on just bad manners.

After 40 minutes, one in my party approached the Manager who was diligently working prepping foot, to question why were couldn't be seated when there were seven (7) open tables. (We had approached the hostesses who again were rude beyond measure - we thought about leaving but figured in for a penny, in for a pound and besides, anywhere else would also have a long wait.) The Manager was professional and diplomatic but we were still not seated until 20 more minutes ticked by when there were now eight (8) open tables. Finally one of the hostesses sulkily approached our group at the bar and stated we need to clear up our bar tab now because she could seat us - this girl was beyond rude, even more so than our first encounter upon arriving. I asked her to take of the bar bill and send it to us at our table as of course we had a credit card on file. She was dismissive, almost to point of being angry, that she had to provide this elemental part of customer service. That alone is the reason we will not be returning here until the front of the house (the very front of the house) is completely changed; despite having had very good service and excellent food in the past, today's experience was terrible in regards to initial service & impression on arrival and lack of response from the manager in reeling in the rudeness from the horrible hostesses! Yuck!

Chris is the only reason we will ever consider returning when human resource challenges are resolved; i.e. the hostesses. We were seated by one these terribly surly hostess and had to ask our waiter, Chris, who by the way was WONDERFUL, for our bar bill after more than 10 minutes had passed. Chris brought us the bar bill that the hostess apparently couldn't for whatever reason. Chris saved the experience of dining there, made it less than a disaster as he was responsive, informative and knew the menu quite well. Bravo for Chris.

Down with the hostesses, though, especially the one who sat us.
The order of Biscuits and Gravy was indeed only one biscuit? Why the plural term when only one biscuit was served. The Chef is new is the response we were given and Chris did get the person in our party another biscuit.

French Toast was fabulous. Perfection.

Other orders were good but not remarkable.

Being above the age of 30 with a high amount of discretionary income even in this economy, I will never go back due to the disorganization, the lack of management interacting with waiting patrons who were perched two-deep in the bar on uncomfortable stools when there were numerous tables open, and especially the apathetic, rude and ill-mannered hostesses. Again, especially the hostess who conveyed to us by her actions that she did not enjoy her job, nor enjoy people.
Got to wonder why people such as that are employed at a fine place that in the past has been enjoyable.

Again, we will not be back, nor bring clients for any occasion, until new management strategy is in place and especially the rudeness and incivility is forever curtailed at the hostess stand.
