“Walking Distance to Everything!”
Reviewed September 20, 2013

I was met at the front desk by Justin upon arrival. He was friendly, knowledgeable and very efficient. I had to call down to the front desk a few times and each time Justin was the one that answered and he always had an answer for me, if every hotel I stayed in had a “Justin” there would never be any problems. I also had the privilege of meeting of Suzie, the bartender at the XYZ Bar. What a hoot, had great restaurant recommendations and was very prompt with service. She was also really fun to chat with, another great Aloft employee. I did eat dinner and have drinks at the bar my last night and the food was excellent and the drinks were delicious. Also, all of the prices were really reasonable.

They gym facilities were really nice, plenty of machines and space for multiple people to work out in. I never used the pool, the space was really nice just not much of a swimmer. The pool is really small, more like an oversized hot tub, but hey you can’t be perfect at everything. Sometimes you have to work with the space your given. Also, if there was a spa I never saw it or was told about it.

The parking is really convenient, there was always a space open right out front when I came back at the end of the day and even if it were full the parking in the back is still very convenient. In the evenings I didn’t need to drive anywhere, there are plenty of sights to see and places to eat all within walking distance.

Yes the shower leaks a little under the door but that’s what the bath mat is for. It’s not like its tsunami or anything.

Yes the music is a little loud, but it’s the Aloft, get over it. Stay at a Marriot if you don’t like it.

The light switches are a little crazy, but once you get used to the sequence its fine.

My only complaint is that there was one AC vent in the room and its way up at the top by the ceiling and it just never felt cool in the room. I like it really cold when I sleep and it was warm in the evenings. I survived and life goes on!!

God i love this place, i ususllly stay at the Omni but not any more. Funky, vibrant, amazing staff, great location for conventions....and the rooms....awesome.

There were also live bands and gigs in the front foyer and a great bar for happy hour too.

For any business traveller going to a convention in Dallas stay here!

Just a 5 minute wals to the restaurants on Main st and a 5 min cab to Uptown (Way more great places to eat).

thanks Aloft for a cracking stay

Room Tip: get a room facing the Omni

I enjoyed the history of the building and the original character captured. I disliked the bench seats in our suite. Very uncomfortable. The breakfast options were convenient and was nice to have the opportunity of a hot breakfast. Pool was often unoccupied which was nice but pool was small. Limited hours of restaurant for lunch was disappointing.

My wife and tel daughters spent a girls get away weekend here. They lived the quirkiness of the hotel. The room was clean and neat. The TV stations and on-demand movie selection was weak. Swimming pool rather small. Overall-great place for a weekend.

Downtown location, a block from the convention center, across the street from Pioneer Park and cemetery. The room is comfortable, the a/c works great!! Channel selection on the tv is ok--if you like sports, you're covered with about 6 sports channels including 4 EPSN channels. There aren't any closets, but that's not a big deal for me. There is a artsy hanger on the wall and ample drawers for storage as well as some shelving in the bathroom. The vanity area is well lit, the shower area is pretty dim. My room had a shower only so if you're expecting a luxurious soak in a tub, you'll be out of luck. Be warned that noises and conversation carry over into the next room. Parking is semi-reasonable at $10/day, but if there are events at the convention center, you're not guaranteed a spot if you leave the hotel and return.

Hotel that is updated and looks very modern with an industrial twist. Enjoyed my stay very much.
Would go back. Hope that you understand this is a place to relax and is close to great food and entertainment.
