Aloft in Downtown Dallas is affordable, and the decor is hip modern (and slightly cheesy, but refreshing and beautiful in contrast to the souless reds, beiges and florals of most chain hotels). The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the bathroom is stocked with Bliss products. We ate at the bar on our second stay because it was kind of late and we were driving a Penske ... I'd find somewhere else to eat next time. It wasn't gross, it just tasted like it came out of a freezer. Overall I'm fond of this place and wish Aloft would replace the Days and Holiday Inns of the world.

Good hotel, clean, comfortable beds, good size rooms. Staff friendly but do not offer a lot of information. Reasonable location. Pool very good even though small. Breakfast not really great but close to cafes. No restaurant in hotel you have to walk to near by streets. Stayed 4 nights. Air conditioning good. Clean bathroom and good size. 15 minute walk to get something to eat. Look out if staff offer to get taxi for you make sure it is a taxi not a hire car that charges a high rate. Close to information centre - 15 minutes

Not a bad room, got upgraded by Manager. All of the staff seems great. The rooms are a bit electic. The A/C never did work very strongly during the day. And in August in Dallas, you NEED the A/C to be cranking. My only real complaint with the room is at night there is VERY little room lighting. To the point where the room is almost unuable after dark, Seriously aLoft, I get the minimal thing but I need to be able to see to work. The wierdness of the furnishings and stuff borders a little on the over-done. Think the Jetsons meet the Flinstones for the decor scheme.
Staff is pretty incredible though. They are VERY customer-service oriented. It is directly across form the Convention Center, an easy walk even in the deadly Dallas heat. Whatever you do in Dallas, go Bob's Chop House across the street at the Omni Hotel. One of the best dining experiences I've had in Dallas. OUTSTANDING food, very reasonably priced.

Room Tip: Make sure the A/C is working, Ask for one that's well-lit. If there is one.

This is a great place to stay directly across from the convention center. Minimalist feel and very nice people? Would recommend for just about anything. Price is an awesome value. Close to all the fun things downtown. A nice home away from home.

Have stayed here twice this summer. Both times my platinum status was recognized and I was assigned large suites. Both times my sleep was good and it was quiet. Front desk staff were friendly. Had drinks in bar. Bar help was also very friendly. Is my SPG hotel of choice in downtown Dallas area.

My girlfriend and I have now stayed here twice, and not sure we will be back.

The good: The staff has always been very accommodating and helpful. The first time we stayed here was November 2011, and when we checked in they had upgraded us to a suite, which was a very nice surprise. The suite was very spacious and comfortable, as was the standard room we stayed in this July. We asked for a late checkout and they gave us until 1pm at no cost, so we were happy with that. The hotel itself is very cool, we love the loft feel and the decor. Both times we have stayed here our rooms have been very clean. The bathrooms have been very nice and the showers were large and luxurious. Also, good value for what you get.

The bad: Both times we have stayed here, we have been kept awake until 3am by people yelling in the halls.... and most recently, our room was directly above the pool and even though it closes at 11pm, we were kept awake by people yelling in the pool area. Not impressed! We know that this is probably a nightly occurrence in the Aloft, since it has happened both times we have stayed here. Bed was a bit uncomfortable.

Room Tip: Ask to be on a higher floor for a nice view of downtown dallas! And NOT above the pool.

I had a fine one night stay at the Aloft in Dallas. The hotel had a cool design concept and the rooms were very clean and modern. I booked via Priceline and expected to not have a room with a view as a result, but I had an awesome view of the Reunion Tower & Bank of America Plaza. The hotel was home to some very loud/questionable guests. I had just gotten to sleep around 3AM and was awoken by a woman screaming and yelling at another guest in the hallway. I was glad to be staying with a friend, at least--if I had been staying alone I wouldn’t have felt super safe in the outdoor parking lot or in the hotel. Also, as others have mentioned, the A/C never got as cool as I had wanted and the lighting in the room was awful at night.
