“WHAT LUNCH !!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 9, 2012

Wish we knew what all the hype was about, as we sat down at 1:45 and looked at the menu, and trying to figure it out, at 1:55 we were told that the kitchen was closing for lunch and we would have to order everything now! The mexican restaurant across the breezway was great, try it.

“Sublime Japanese Soba House”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2012

Blink, and you could miss it. Tei An is situated in the corner of an open courtyard, attached to a contemporary office building in the Dallas Arts District.

We had a fabulous time, a pre-concert meal that was so good we cannot wait to return. The restaurant is a quiet, dark contemporary space. The sushi starter was as good as you could expect. But the highlights of the evening and of the menu are the wonderful soba (Japanese buckwheat noodle) dishes. The green soba Bolagnese, with Wayku beef, was out of this world! It was followed by green soba with Porcini mushroom and meat sauce - splendid!

And the desserts - incredible! For example, soba ice cream with black honey was a hit, wonderful ice cream dusted with soba crumbs and a fabulous, rich, molasses flavored black honey. Yum! If fact, our wait person tempted us by telling that she ate a portion of all the deserts in one sitting!

Don't miss this gem if you live in or visit the Dallas area.

“Fantabulous Japanese restaurant in downtown Dallas”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 6, 2012 via mobile

What I really like was the calm and quite atmosphere of the restaurant. Although all the tables were full but still you couldn't somehow hear the crowd. The food was very good and fresh too. As appetizer we took mix tempura and smoked salmon sushi. Both were excellent. Beef BBQ with home made sauce as main dish and that was delicious too.By the way if you're a beer person, try their Japanese draught beer Kirin.Fantastic!

“Expensive Lunch but great taste”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 13, 2012

I got the chef's choice Bento Box Chef's choice. It was 14.00... a little expensive for lunch. But the food taste great and surprisingly the small amount filled me up! I would go back when I had the extra money! The place is unique and I loved the presentation of each dish. Also, be sure to stop by the restrooms...pretty interesting.

“Horrible sushi”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 7, 2012

The food was a huge disappointment. I orderd spicy tuna and three pieces of nigiri which all were very pricey for what they were. The spicy tuna was scrapped tuna with some spicy sauce just pulled on top of rice and then pressed together and sliced into pieces. I know airports who do better sushi. My dinner was not filling or appetizing, so I ordered a bowl of rice on the side and ate it with soy sauce just to get some substance. I will say ambiance was nice and so was staff, but if you think this is a place for sushi, look elsewhere. Other tables sushi looked just as disappointing.
