It was really cold for the OSU/Purdue game, so I was a little annoyed with how few entrances were open to get into the stadium. Parking is not well signed and there weren't many entrances open to get in to Fair Park. Had to walk a long way and then double back to the stadium. Seats were very narrow and not much leg room. Food was fine. The staff at the food stands was enthusiastic and funny. The hot chocolate was good! :) Bathrooms were clean. The jumbotrons were new and in good shape. The sound system was good. I'm no expect on the football turf, but it seemed to be in good shape! For the price of the tickets it was a good deal.

The old Cotton Bowl is still a fun place for NCAA football. It was cold and windy on New Years Day but the stadium brought back some pleasant memories. They need to work on their ADA seating and directions. It would be nice to have more open on the fair grounds for these games that the few food stands right outside the stadium but I can live with it.

I went there on the 4th of July for fireworks. The place was really big, and restrooms were easy to find. I also went there every year for state fair of Texas. It was fun, and it is a must-go place if you happen to be in Texas during that time of the year.

You can almost hear Pat Summerall calling the color of a Cowboys game, with Tom Landry prowling the sidelines, when you see this classic American football venue. It is still used each year for the Texas-Oklahoma game during the state fair (try to avoid that fair weekend, unless going to the game, as pretty wild if with small kids) and some other events (Clapton guitar jams among them), and has been upgraded in recent years. Check the web for updated Cotton Bowl events when you plan your DFW visit.

I appreciate the tradition of the cotton bowl, but it's starting to get really run down. needs a facelift, but with no games sticking around, I'm not sure how they will afford it.
