If you are my age, you remember the JFK assassination. Actually seeing the location, the Texas School Book Depository, and the grassy knoll are just something you need to do if you are in Dallas.

And of course, with Lee harvey Oswald shot, the certainty of a single perpetrator lessened and the conspiracy theories took off.

Just something you need to see.

You can almost visualize the motorcade, the grassy knoll, the sixth floor window as it happen. At least I could. The area could use some upkeep, but its not dirty by any stretch. Go to the sixth floor first, then visit the plaza.

If you are of a certain age, this is a must visit. Very unassuming on a major expressway, but no one forgets where they were that day in November watching history be made here,,

Dealey Plaza is a city park within Dallas. Many assume the monuments outlining the plaza are there to honor President Kennedy, but they actually honor previous Dallas residents and predates President Kennedy's visit.

It is however, the location of the assassination of John F Kennedy. It does not take much time to see, but it is very somber being right in the area where a part of our American history took place. My wife and visited here in January and found it to be very interesting.

Parking is somewhat difficult to find; since you have to pay for parking (whether by lot or by meter) we would certainly recommend visiting some of the additional historic buildings in the area as well.

Summary - worth visiting at least once, especially if you are into our history and interested in President Kennedy's assassination.

This area would be better if there was an offical marker in the street, not white "x"'s from competing history buffs selling their wares along the curb. the area needs to be spruced up, painting and cleaning the plaza area would be nice.
